Just about managed to sneak this one in before the deadline with draft day just around the corner now, hope I didnt butcher the edit too badly.

In this guide to the 2024 AFL draft I cover the first round in detail providing tier groupings, rankings and in depth player profiles. Outside of the first round I break the likely prospects up into their position types and rank them to make it easier for you to figure out which players your team could be targeting to fill that annoying hole in your lineup.

Huge thanks to everyone that's watched my content over the course the 2024 season, its been a privilege and a ton of fun to provide you with vision of the top end and the deep prospects in this bumper crop.

Final version of my mock draft (subject to slight changes ;)); first 2 rounds

We can only take 6 picks if we're using 1 to upgrade Young to the senior list (already committed to it), and 1 to draft Colina as a rookie (I don't want us to, but it seems like we don't have another Cat B exception and we've alerady committed to redrafting him as a rookie)

All trades are based on draft positions at the time of the trade

Oh My God Wow GIF by reactionseditor

I wonder if we could tempt the Bummers to trade with 2 x F1 (they have theirs and someone else's) for pick 11. They get a good player before Kako is bid on and may just go for it. We still end up with 3 picks in the first 10, 7 in the top 24 and have 3 first rounders in 2025, possibly 4 if we trade out a later one (say 23 or even 24) possibly for a F1 and a later pick in the late 30s or 40s this year....

All depends on if Kako gets bid on before us. If Bombers say no, we just bid on Kako...

i still don't see it with him, a less athletic, slightly taller caddy but worse

just don't see where we'd fit him into our side even before thinking about who we bring in this year and next year (possibly sharp).

i can maaaybe see getting him if there's a slider like FOS/jagga/draper at 6 that we take instead of smillie, but even then, he's still just kmart lalor

however i am willing to be wrong and accept that others who've watched much more juniors than me can project him as a chad warner/clayton oliver type mid or something and if that's the case, fine, we can get him, but just keep him away from the pokies & the good stuff

I'm with you. I'm not completely convinced on that type of player generally. He has been pretty good though.
