Amarty the most vulnerable imo

He just led our goalkicking for the season. Surely Logan, as another with trade value, when looked at in the cold light of day, is another we could ship out.

The player we seem incapable of replacing is JPK.

Neale and Ashcroft completely destroyed us in tight and that was basically the beginning, middle, and end of the game. If Heeney wasn't going off, we were no chance.

There were warning signs all year that a game like this would happen (again). Even back to round 3 when Taranto did whatever he wanted.

Foot and Daniher both taking the ball out of the ruck and kicking it forward creating two goals for one in both the first and second was also critical.

God knows what would have happened if the big o hadn’t have got injured.

We actually need a ruck to be able to compete - what do we need to do to get young green ready ?

The thing is we don't have a clearance midfielder in the team right now. Heeney, Warner, Gulden, Rowbottom etc can do it when asked, but it isn't their main roles.

Longmire just does not value clearance midfielders. He clearly was not a fan of Tom Mitchell, basically only playing him as a tagger, he pushed George Hewett out of the club despite being a big bodied mid who definitely can win clearances, he basically has refused to play Sheldrick, and even when he did always played him out of position and he dropped Adams for the finals.

Until Longmire learns to value players who stay in the guts most of the game, players who are there solely to win the clearance then I don't see our poor clearances changing.

All week they were talking up Grundy as likely to dominate. I knew all Fort needed to do was be competitive and that wouldn't happen.

Grundy's form was average throughout the second half of the year. He should have been rested at least twice when we were so far clear on top.

Yep. Wasn't impressed with Grundy for the 2nd half of the season TBH.

When you look at Brisbane we are a long way behind if you take into account they had Big O, Coleman, Gardiner and Linc McCarthey missing and they will add Levi Ashcroft this off season as well. Their list depth and quality is the best in the competition.

I think Logan the defender is a possibility

I'm sort of wondering if he'd be a lock down and free up T Mc to intercept or whether he can intercept

We never really replaced Paddy

Arguably Logan's best game at the club was the prelim before he got injured.

I think moving him to defence would be removing our best hope at finding a reliable key forward.

I see it differently.

Logan’s deficiency is his strength and pack marking.

His positives are his athleticism and tank (plus footy smarts and a decent kick).

He’s suited to getting around the ground.

Not really what you’re after in a KPD.

Were you replying to my post by mistake? I said we shouldn't be moving him to defence.

Melican now seems to be our best defender

TMc has dropped off a bit

Rampe needs less responsibility
Yeah I thought melican was close to our best.
