We would have beaten both of them tonight. These two will be playing finals.
Carlton bandwagon is ON!
BumpMcKay looks beyond saving. Can’t even kick them from 5m out anymore. Turn him into a backman.
Intentional. 7 weeks. Have you learnt nothing
No current season stats available
500k a year. Peanuts.
“Given Billings remains contractually tied to Ross Lyon's side until the cessation of 2025, a deal that will reportedly net him within the vicinity of $1 million, St Kilda will be paying a portion of this figure in an effort to move the Oakleigh Chargers product from its roster.”
Not too sure about that.We would have beaten both of them tonight.
George ?Is there anyone less funny than Daniel Gorringe?
Besides recently anointed hands down least funny CaptainRisky of course
You bore me.
I don’t know what world you live on. But 500k a year is not peanuts and it’s still above average wage in 2023. (441k was the average in 2023 and back when he re-signed in 21 it was 372k)500K a year, comma, peanut.
What was the previous contract? That's the point.
Use your inside sources* to tell us what Bruce, Newnes ,Acres and Billings were on prior to getting the average AFL wage or moved on.
At least he isn't taking up a spot on our list, if we keep him there's a chance we don't get Arie or Hugo. Those boys may not end up making the grade, but it's better then paying way overs for JB.I don’t know what world you live on. But 500k a year is not peanuts and it’s still above average wage in 2023. It was and is a poor deal and we are still paying a portion for him to run around at Melbourne for 2 seasons
The guys you want to sign long term are the ones that other clubs are chasing. Signing Billings for four years when no other club wanted him and his best footy was well behind him was idiocy. The same can be said about the bizarre Alison extension.4 x $500K for Billings in 2021 was a great deal for the club.
We wouldn't have a playing list if we offered 2 year deals to players of his ilk.
To come back from 46 points down and win at the GABBA is basically as good a win as you'll get. They're clearly a top four team this year.******* hell this season is going to be painful if Carlton is up and about.
The only remedy is for us to be better.
You would think two decades of being shit would have taught them to be humble.******* hell this season is going to be painful if Carlton is up and about.

I wanted Billings gone. So I’ll cop paying some of his salary. At least he isn't taking up a spot on our list, if we keep him there's a chance we don't get Arie or Hugo. Those boys may not end up making the grade, but it's better then paying way overs for JB.

To be honest I reckon Higgins got pretty lucky with his four year deal last year, not sure I understand that one but hopefully he proves me wrong.

But the conversation was around Billings taking this massive pay cut to sign for 4 years
Yeah, he took a pay cut on the previous deal. But this narrative that he was on pittance is and was laughable and far from the truth or that it was some favour.
No one wanted JB 2 years ago . Last year he only got to Melbourne off the back of Richo.
500k a season… 2 years later still being paid more then league average for someone who’s output is league minimum since signing that deal.
l would have liked to see JB gone 4 years ago and there's no doubt Gags was a bit generous on some tenures, but the fix up job for SOS was still very minimal. It's just about a more ruthless approach from top to bottom with cutoffs on credit for potential. The guys you want to sign long term are the ones that other clubs are chasing. IMO he doesn't run around, he fills in gaps on the edges of play, rarely influences a ball in dispute contest, amd waits to get involved as a reciever.
Money paid imo is the L needed to be taken to move on with overall team morale, motivation and therefore velocity towards the ultimate goal. Which is all that matters.
Good luck to all espeically Dees.
And isn't allergic to have a ficking CRACK!!When you consider he's probably in competition with Wood and Hill types it makes him a lot less appealing. Byrnes probably has more upside even. At least Ryan's an elite runner.

The losses of Gresh, Coff, JB and Dmac are more than covered by Dow, Henry, Boner and Wilson. The 4 delistees are replaced by 4 new kids that look much better, and SOS will already be out shopping for a big name.
Compare that to Ned Guy and the turmoil he left the Pies list in. All of the Gags, Ratts, Satan era were part of setting the club up for the now. Men for the time.
