Hey guys, just wondering if you can tell me a bit about Wade Derksen? Also, what do you think gets the trade done?

For starters he is a really good person.
He caught my eye at a trial game last year off the field, he made a very good impression. I've been impressed since.
He has been good in a number of roles in 2's.
I think he will be a handy addition, obviously not a game changer.
Probably a 3rd round pick I'm guessing.

Yes - no issues but I was a bit surprised as normally our club is good at announcing signings. Will probably be confirmed in due course by the club. Good decision to have a ruck backup in case something goes catastrophically wrong with Briggs or the draft doesn’t happen the way we expected.

While our best 18-20 players are still very strong our depth is looking like it will be the worst it's ever been. So while I'm all about hitting the draft hard we definitely need to also bring in a couple of ready made players.

GREATER Western Sydney is still waiting for an answer on utility Conor Stone's future, as the club battles to retain a host of players amid rival interest. Stone has had a two-year deal on the table to stay at the Giants for a number of weeks now, but is yet to commit to the club for next season and beyond. Stone's situation adds to the uncertainty around a number of key Giants, with free agent Isaac Cumming having already told the club he will leave and with uncontracted duo Harry Perryman and James Peatling still to decide their future.

Is desperate to play AFL. Fullarton was 47 but had played a few games, none the year he was traded though. Wade being under contract, I'd be asking for your pick 45.

they are super bullish on both.

I think they have a lot more confidence Angwin and to a lesser extent Stone as well.

Personally, I really like what Angwin offers as a 2 way runner, especially when he as an accountability role. I see him getting a role in the back 7 next year.

So of the 4 remaining unsigned players for this year, we have formal offers for Peatling, Perryman and Stone - with none yet making a decision to commit yet.

And Kennedy our inaugural Giant wants to stay, but we will probably delist him, or only give a contract extension if the trade period does not go as expected?

I read somewhere they anticipate end of 2nd round compensation which even in a good draft year would be pathetic. Hopefully the improved offer lifts that up a bit but looking like a clusterfu*k.

Keeffe has won me over with a series of good performances. He’s never relied on agility so another year won’t hurt his output. The only thing with Lachie is that he is an horrendous kick for goal. Oppo teams would nearly leave him unchecked to have him kick for goal. We nearly need a policy that he has to hand off.

We clearly have big salary cap pressure with the upgrades of some players, pressure to re-sign Callaghan and maybe pushing money back on some of the long tenure contracts.

On another note the fact a team as stacked with talent as the Western Bulldogs is throwing big tenure offers at James Peatling shows you how difficult our position is. We have to overpay everyone and then deal with cost of living and Laura and Andrew could not give a toss. We look like losing 6+ players and not in the market for anyone.

Setting us up as the perfect development team the VFL always wanted.

Yeah, Tommo went for band 4. Isaac should be at least band 3 (2nd round compo), but I would hope for band 2.

Unsure how the bulldogs have any spare $$$. Bont, English, Treloar, Naughton, JUH, Mcrae, Daniels, Darcy, Libba, Richards, Lobb etc, etc.
