The funny part is that one of the key list management guys from North during that era, Mark Finnigan, currently works for us and is clearly contributing well. Makes you wonder what happens at these clubs, would have had to be way too much input from Brad Scott.Brad Scott was seen as being in control of list management though when he started the rebuild and then he cut and run when he realised what that would entail. The inept coaches that came since are of his doing as a result of him heading for the exits rather than doing the hard work. Again - if he wants to do this at the Druggers I am absolutely here for it!

İf Barras is two firsts, then what is Sicily worth in the open market? 3 firsts? We want future picks to be available in abundance. Eagles are desperate for high end picks but none of their tradeables are going to fetch that for them so they'll be looking to fill up with the Barras deal. Hawks obviously know this.. they have Reid, Waterman, Allen and the Gov of any note, the rest are ok to hot garbage!
Won't happen.I haven’t seen it mentioned here but Twomeys reason on gettable was WCE will be paying part of Barass’ contract.
Eagles buy our 1st pick next year through this trade, we receive their 2nd rounder back.
What an inane reason. How would it benefit us? Has been broadly recognised that our TPP is amongst the lowest in the league.I haven’t seen it mentioned here but Twomeys reason on gettable was WCE will be paying part of Barass’ contract.

He's got no idea. We're increasing his salary ffs.I haven’t seen it mentioned here but Twomeys reason on gettable was WCE will be paying part of Barass’ contract.

Yep I totally agree with all of this. I'm an long suffering Detroit Piston fan and I've seen first hand how giving a head coach too much power within an organisation. In 2014 the Pistons hired Stan Van Gundy to be the head coach and president of basketball operations so in AFL terms he was doing the roles of Sam Mitchell (head coach) and Mark McKenzie (list manager) and in the space of 4 years ran the organisation into the ground in which it still hasn't recovered from 10 years after his reign.I read an article at the time that he was calling the shots - which given his tenure and inflated level of respect in the AFL press would make sense. It's little wonder Norf have rushed into a similar structure allowing Clarko to run the footy department despite a fairly recent example showing that's not exactly a great idea. Coaches aren't recruiters and vice versa. I wouldn't be keen on letting McKenzie coach for a few games next year - it's weird that some coaches are given such authority on list management. Sure - they should absolutely have input and be involved if it's decided a player is going to be pursued like Sam did with Barrass and Battle this year. But list management needs to be collaborative and the buck stops with the list manager and footy manager - not the coach.
It doesn't really make a lot of sense though. Why indirectly purchase our future first rounder without knowing what it will be when pick purchasing is meant to be coming in next year anyway. Potentially with the cap space we would save we could end up purchasing a better pick next year to replace it.I haven’t seen it mentioned here but Twomeys reason on gettable was WCE will be paying part of Barass’ contract.

So you're adamant that 2 x 1st wont be given up? If so then I totally agree and looking at this from a neutral view (ie not a WC or HAW fan) then from what I've seen most seem to think that pick 13 + F2 is just about right.Won't happen.
I don't know anything on the inside but it feels like a trade has already been agreed on.So you're adamant that 2 x 1st wont be given up? I'm thinking that to get the negotiations started WC publicly asks for 2 x 1st rounders to appease their fans but the deal ends up getting done for pick 13 + F2 which is more than fair.
If you pay $10 for something, with 2x $5 notes, but get $4 change, did it really cost $10?
Noodle to west coast is not something I had even considered but it would make sense. They are severely lacking there, Bailey Williams is showing signs but more of a ruck/forward in my opinionReckon that's the case. Maybe even part of the barass trade

Players don't usually nominate a specific club until this is the case. Especially before the season has ended.
Eagles are a quality organisation too so I think it will be a clean trade early in trade week.

There was a whisper late last year they were interested, then nothing. Who knows. He is surplus to our needs given our gameplan has changed, but still has value given the lack of rucks in the leagueNoodle to west coast is not something I had even considered but it would make sense. Saw another post (some Murdoch trash) suggesting that Serong and Noodle would be in other team colours at the start of next season.
Get the kid on the Crispy Creme diet and he could be anything
To be honest I reckon he’s putting on size at a good clip. Be very interested to see how big he is after another preseason.Get the kid on the Crispy Creme diet and he could be anything
eaglevision you seemed pretty keen on Ned Reeves a couple of weeks ago and I know a lot of WC media have said pick 13 + F1 which has led a lot of WC fans to do the same but what about something like the below? I think we might've already discussed this and by memory you said you didn't hate it. With the Max Ramsden extension just being announced and Ivan Soldo rumoured to be wanting to head to the Saints (Ned's other suitor) maybe the below could end up being possibility.Noodle to west coast is not something I had even considered but it would make sense. HAW – Tom Barrass
WC – Pick 13, F2 + Ned Reeves
That seems major overs. Most seem to think it’s r1 plus a slide of f1 for eagles f2. Your trade on this years finishing positions and let’s value reeves as eagles r4 for arguments sake means you are throwing in the equivalent of pick 38 for free. With DVI changes next year and a deep draft, r3 onwards picks this year have much greater value. If you got eagles r4 pick back for reeves maybe that’s ok but we need something.eaglevision you seemed pretty keen on Ned Reeves a couple of weeks ago and I know a lot of WC media have said pick 13 + F1 which has led a lot of WC fans to do the same but what about something like the below?
