Unfortunately for Susan, she has conveniently forgotten about the fact the Barrass would need to sign off on any trade. So, no Susan, he won’t be going wherever you want him to go.
Also that Richmond do not want to bring in a 29 year old full back. And just because Richmond or other clubs have higher picks, does not mean that they would pay more than Hawthorn.

This whole thing is funny as it's fake outrage. We didn't just turn a trade on its head, we only did it knowing exactly what was required to get Barrass, and if we didn't agree to the price than we wouldn't have done the trade.

It's pretty clear that the breakdown of the initial trade negotiations was between WC and Richmond.
So I don't necessarily think WC were being difficult to deal with, we have just taken advantage of the demand for pick 14 by getting a bonus second round pick next year.

It was reported yesterday that we offered pick 14 + a future 3rd, as we weren't wanting to give up a future 2nd. By trading pick 14 we now have 2x future 1sts and 2x future 2nds, allowing one of each to be passed onto WC for Barrass.

That Carlton pick swap has allowed us to maintain a pick in each round next year. You will notice MM likes to bring in future picks, allowing more flexibility to future drafting, trading, or potentially trading back into this year's draft if a player they like is still on the board.

There's no way GWS are letting him go and if they did I doubt we are at the front of the queue.

Except that we have already made enquiries.

GWS - at this moment - want to hold him to his contract.

Max is open to coming back to Victoria. More than open TBH.

If he stays this year, I very much doubt he sees it out until 2026.

He won't be expensive.

And Fatty coming puts him behind Cadman, Hogan, Riccardi and Stringer.

A lot would have to happen in the next 3 days for that to occur. Sounds about as likely us as landing Marshall/Georgiadis in prior seasons.

Carlton must rate this years and not next as that is a pick trade heavily in our favour.
I must be the only one who can't see that. How is it in our favour?

Do most Hawks fans expect Blues to NOT end up Top 6( especially if they get Houston too)? Then the F1 is likely to be pick 12 or under and we did well. If they end up Top 4 as most will assume given their list quality, we are even or doing worse.

Hence I feel we could have done better but sometime you have to bite the bullet as waiting too long can remove options.

Tigers traded picks worth 1700+ points for Pick 20( 900 pts) to Lions but seems like they had to jump the gun as Lions were going to trade pick 20 to someone else who gave them around 1500 pts. All those picks tigers traded out could have been useful in trades for Rioli/Bolton/Baker to give back to Suns/Freo/WCE but they are confident of holding those clubs over the barrel without these picks.

Every year Lions seem to be doing well with such points trade & given Tigers were forced to this trade, I hope they pick Levi at Pick 1 or else Lions are getting talent in cheap.

If we could have replaced the blues F2 with the Lions F2 and as well as added one the Blues 30's pick or their F3, then we would have done well.

This draft talent is quite good and even till pick 20 or so. So pick 14 should be worth more. But MM can't keep waiting for the perfect trade and so took the best on offer so everyone can use the weekend to digest that pick 14 is not in our hands.

Time heals and Eagles will come to the party, their fans may throw the toys out of cot till Barass deal gets done. ATM they feel entitled to both our F1 & F2 and want more to be added, we just have to give it time and Barass can be done as last gasp trade too now, we can focus on others.

I’m sure there are draft watchers that know far more about this crop than me, but the idea that it’s a super draft as some in the media have suggested seems so off to me. To my eye, the top 10 look as weak as we’ve seen in years.

I never took it as a super draft, just that the draft talent batted deep.
