they mentioned on 9 news, butters is nursing an ankle injury, the one that got him managed vs dogs, i assume it is the same ankle that gave him trouble in the pre-season.

JEREMY FINLAYSON has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2024 season, with scans confirming a small and stable laceration to his spleen. Finlayson felt pain in his sternum after a collision on Sunday and reported worsening symptoms following the game. Despite improvement overnight, the 28-year-old underwent further investigation on Monday which revealed the extent of the injury. The forward does not require surgery, but he will need an extensive period to rest and heal.

Todd Marshall has escaped serious injury and will be tested this week, with imaging showing a strain to his hip. The key forward went up for a marking contest on Sunday, but fell in a tangle of players and took no further part in the game.

Lachie Jones has entered concussion protocols after a head knock, while Josh Sinn, Ryan Burton and Trent McKenzie will all be tested at training this week and are expected to be available for selection.

Injury list
Josh Sinn (quad) - test
Trent McKenzie (hamstring) - test
Ryan Burton (foot) - test
Todd Marshall (hip) - test
Lachie Jones (concussion) - in protocols
Ivan Soldo (knee) - 3 weeks
Jeremy Finlayson (spleen) - season
Sam Powell-Pepper (knee) - season

lol philthy in the game thread was like 'it must be bad if hes crying on the bench'

no, hes crying because hes Todd Marshall

It looked like Marshall had torn a hamstring off the bone.

Bad luck for Finlayson.
I'm still not convinced he hasn't.

I mean seriously, is this another case of the club trying to play funny buggers? And if so, why?

The guy came off the ground holding the hamstring, pointing at the spot in the hamstring to doctors. Are we to believe that all of that meant nothing and it was referred pain from a hip??

It just doesn't add up

Lol he was limping with a peg leg after the game too. If he plays they are downplaying it at best.

We knew todd was playing through injury for a large majority of last year and then he went for surgery at the end of the year.

It’s totally in hinkleys wheelhouse to have players play through injury in the hopes of getting those few reg season wins to keep his job.

Hell right now he’s weekend at bernieing Dixon
