Swans also picked up Tom Hanily in the MSD, who is a 179cm forward/mid - so potentially plays a similar role to Konstanty. If Carlton are really looking at a small goalkicking pressure forward with a high work rate, then there is an untried kid named Konstanty at the Swans who in his draft year in the under 18s for Gippsland Power was second in that comp overall for his pressure acts. In the Swans write up they say he plays in a similar way to Papley (which of course could be just the big sell to their supporters....) but he wouldn`t cost that much I imagine, although he would need time to develop and perhaps Carlton would rather someone straight away, but the Swans would seem to have that area covered quite well for at least a few years and the kid might want to get his career going sooner.
The conspiracy theorist in me says that they may have recruited Hanily because Konstanty has informed them he's moving on, especially as he's still uncontracted - but either way, they're pretty well stacked with those small/medium forwards, so he may be looking elsewhere for more opportunities.
Could be a good pick up without the premium price tag....and we seem to have a pretty good trade relationship with the Swans going by recent history.
