Jedd Busslinger looked pretty good in the reserves yesterday for the Bulldogs and yet to debut in the AFL, OOC this year(footywire), 20 years old, 198cm KPD, must have been highly rated as a junior, went pick 13 in his draft year, I have no idea what it would take to get him, probably couldn't get it done with baby Ashcroft and Marshall coming in sadly.

West Coast fans want him, but apparently he's interested in going to Fremantle.

Fair chance Dan Curtin wants out of Adelaide, and Lance Collard apparently wants out of St Kilda and head back to WA as well.

I reckon that Josh Battle would be a good pick up for us as the 3rd tall back. Unrestricted free agent as well. He would fit in nicely in our backline.

Besides, we just loaded up in the MSD, so we are overstocked on the list. Now we hardly have a spots for our Academy/FS potentials which would require plenty of points.

Suggesting to trade in scraps from other teams would require list spots and capital, such as draft picks which will not be used on Ashcroft and Marshal. Where is it coming from? We are not a club that casts off signed players or lets go of Mid Season draftees without extensions.

We've put that money on Doedee already. No can do.

I expect no significant addition this year. We've alternated years where we have done something significant for the most part (Neale in 2019, Daniher 2021, Dunkley 2023) and I expect all our money is tied up in retaining players.

A younger key forward is on the menu for the 2025 trade period.

It feels like we don’t have an immediate list need aside from beginning to think about replacements for some of our older players - but that is a 1-3 year horizon. List feels in pretty good shape.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if we have another 'quiet' trade period where we focus on getting enough draft picks to snag Ashcroft and Marshall. Apparently clubs are after our Pick 6, similar to Gold Coast with Pick 4 last year.

A consistent monster key forward is a desperate need.

Not many out there that are affordable though. Run with Daniher + Hipwood and hope Morris grows a couple of cms and fills out quickly like Cadman.

It kinda feels like one of those really difficult years, our list is is full up, it's even 'over filled' with the mid season draft. Then there are a few older blokes with blown knees that might come back, a few older blokes that might play another year and a few younger blokes that have been knocking on the door for a while. Then new have a good position in the draft with some high potential players we can get.

It's like we need to/have to have a fair size clean up and think seriously about the future or just next year.

Our list 'above' has 4 clear favourites to go but that is no where near enough, we got 3 in the mid season draft alone. McCluggage has signed and I really feel Berry will also.

Feels like there could be some trading or de-listing of player not mentioned yet.

Maybe someone could give us an update of where we stand - like 3 mid season taken, 4 likely drafted we need, ????? meaning 7 or 8 out = 4 delisted, 3 traded. Whatever

Two of the three midseason picks won’t be renewed you would assume. Not sure who else might be delisted but that said, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Sharp requested a trade and Zorks is retired

McLachlin nominated on an 18 month contract term so he's definitely around for another season.

As a fringe midfielder/half forward you’d have to be watching the careers of Tom Berry and Keays getting a good run of games at their respective clubs. Especially with Levi, Marshall and Annable coming in.

I think 6 will go: Lyons, Lane, Joyce, Madden, Prior and Michael.

I reckon Dev is going to West Coast. Looks to now be behind Tunstill for a best 22 spot.

We could just draft 3 and upgrade Lester to the regular list again.

Yeah I agree. The List seems solid. And I think we can draft well enough over those 1-3yrs to find replacements. Target what we want, a sm fwd, kpf or kpb etc, and get the best we can. Trade up the draft to do so.

I agree with your 6 although I think there is a chance we keep Darragh Joyce on for true KPD depth, both Gardiner and Doedee are undersized to play a substantial part of the season on 198cm+ key forwards IMO.

Dev OOC end of 2025 but yer he could see the writing on the wall, with highly rated mids L. Ashcroft, Marshall and Annable coming in over the next couple of drafts and W. Ashcroft back soon Dev's senior opportunities are going to be pretty slim. It's a pity because I like him and he has never really been given a decent crack at his preferred role at AFL level.

We need list spots and Joyce hasn't been impressive in my view. He could be delisted with another KPD to replace him in SSP.

It is a pity, but he's not going to get the chance here. May as well go at the time we need the list spots most.

I would much rather keep Dev than Tunstill. He might be more skilful but he is very Vanilla and has had very little impact in his games to date.Dev is much more aggressive and a fierce competitor. Tunstill might be worth a late second rounder from West Coast but he would not be in our best 22.
