He’s just putting his feelers out there.
We are locked in to Day imo.
It seems that way - would Jack Hayes be a comparable option?

Maybe it is Day we just have to wait and see.

Jack Hayes:
Plays all season 2025 as a 29-year-old.
8 AFL games in the last 3 years

6 VFL games in 2024. Basic average stats: 15 D, 3 H/O, 4.8 M, 3 T, 1.8 G (registered H/O 4 of the 6 games)

Sam Day:
Plays all season 2025 as a 32-year-old
11 AFL games in the last 3 years

8 VFL games in 2024. Basic average stats: 9 D, 1.2 H/O, 4.4 M, 0.6 T, 2.5 G (Registered 10 H/O in one game of 8)

Interesting comparison. Thanks for that. It reads like Day is more a forward who spends time in the ruck while Hayes is more a ruck who spends time forward.

But I've seen hardly any of either of them at either level so others will probably be able to fill in the blanks.

No, they're both forwards. I think Day is the better contested mark but Hayes does more around the ground.

Liam McBean
Hugh Dixion

are both better forwards both capable of playing ruck if needed both would be better options than DAY and Hayes

Fairly accurate. Day is more accomplished, period, but Hayes is a better ruck option of the two.

Liam McBean is coincidentally one of Joe Danihers best mates.

There was a list of 400+ players who've nominated for draft. I searched for McBean in there, couldn't find him.

Not sure if getting delisted few years back mean he can be delisted free agent forever or if he needs to nominate for draft at certain point.

To be honest I'd rather stick with Fort.

A premiership player who knows our system back to front and is loved by his teammates.

I just don't see a better option than regularly injured discards from sides who have been nowhere near it for years.

I don't thinking bringing in Hayes or Day means they'll play over Fort necessarily. We're short for playable KPF depth currently if we don't bring someone else in.

A fit and firing Day is 100% ahead of Fort.

Henry Smith is the wildcard for me. If he takes a step forward, he'll get first crack.

Just picture that I know how to use a computer and have super imposed Henry smiths face on all 3.

I have never seen Liam McBean play and not even sure if he can play ruck.
Some stats.
30-year-old, 202cm, 96kg. Played 133 games (VFL) 324 goals
2024: Jack Oakey medal winner with 55 goals

........................................

LIAM MCBEAN

This one’s probably more of a long shot than the others on this list, but Liam McBean reminded everyone of his talents when he booted seven goals on SANFL grand final day.

The Glenelg captain played five games for Richmond between 2015-2016 and spearheaded his state league side to back-to-back flags this year.

The Jack Oatey Medallist is a force to be reckoned with, but his time at AFL level is probably up, unless a club decides they’re in need of a ready-made key forward replacement…
