Agree. It’s the same move. Lower, tilt then lift the arm, throw the head back. He has added the hold onto their arm trick too. Darling does this frequently in marking contests.

There was one hilarious one where he picked up the ball near the boundary and just flung himself forwards with his head leading the way trying to draw it but the opposing player just left him and made him look like a complete goose.

All that said I think there was definitely one where he legit just got smashed high, but his own precedent makes it near impossible for the umpires to give him anything.

He’s not the only one who does it, but he’s the one who attempts it EVERY play.
I have absolutely zero sympathy for him. Whether they are there or not, he dug his grave taking the absolute piss out of it to start his career.

Pick Yeo as FA and then trade Brodie to Eagles for third round pick. Eagles will get likely second round compo for Yeo.

I’d want a serious Medical assessment done because don’t want Yeo if his injuries aren’t behind him.

Erasmus stays and I’d expect him to be playing more regularly as the year goes.
Yeo's an unrestricted free agent so no compo pick.

This is not correct. They might end up with nothing if the total contract value is too low due to his age, but there is still compensation for unrestricted free agents.
Yep you're right. I assumed there was no compensation because of the high number of players that don't qualify for compensation.

I feel like there isn't a single example of a quality player over 30 with a long history of soft tissue injuries playing even a single full season. They just keep breaking down.
I accept that, but Ottens is an example of an injury prone player managed to become a key player in finals. It is what I hope we do with Fyfe and Darcy.

Regardless, for me it is still not a trade I would do, but it would be a temptation.

My preference is to give Erasmus* every opportunity to develop. Yeo would steal those opportunities.

*I'll add Simpson. We have internal development to focus on.

If you have to go back to Ottens, I think that's good enough to prove the point.

Agree with the rest.

Brodie for Yeo.

Yes or No?
Whoa, Elliot's surname is literally Yes and No smooshed together.

His ancestors must have been really indecisive.

well they were hard core dockers supporters until their son joined WC which has provided a mental dilemma ever since, and particularly now that WC are the worst established team ever to hit the AFL record books.

Yeah. There may be others, and it's not the ideal strategy anyway.

If we did get a serious look at September action will be interesting to see how the club approaches resting players. And of course giving some of the underlings (such as Brodie) opportunity to find form at the highest level.

Games into Emmett and Draper are a big plus.

Based on amount of games missed I'm not sure we can actually consider Darcy injury prone tbh. Especially not before mid last season.

Ras had some good numbers on the weekend but who makes way for him? If he takes JOM spot he is straight back on the pine as the sub and gains nothing from it. MJ hasn’t had the best start to the year but if he’s dropped same rule applies 🤷‍♂️

Emmett. No tackles, no goals. Isn't playing bad but surely we can look to improve on that for a forward, defensive or otherwise.

I know Emmett has his fans and has shown something, but that is the change I would make.

I like the midfield support Erasmus can bring, especially for the Carlton game. And I really want us to test our young incoming midfielders up forward, especially Erasmus and Simpson.
