Lobb reportedly earns more per year (reports say 600K) than Jack Bowes was on at Gold Coast. To get rid of the Bowes contract (1.6 million over 3 season according to reports) it took a top ten pick (7). After trading away their 2024 first rounder last trade season I doubt the Western Bulldogs have the trade capital to rid themselves of the Lobb contract. Which is pretty hysterical considering the length Lobb went to so that he could end up at the WB's. Getting Lobb could end up end costing the WB English.

The Bowes trade is just bizarre for me. Was his contract that bad you had to pay that much for someone else to take him.

Surely the Bulldogs can salary cap dump Lobb for a future fourth rounder to a club desperate for a key forward.

Yeah it was genuinely baffling, there would have been a club that took on that salary I reckon, especially as the Cats smoothed it out anyway?

A 2nd rounder like Brodie would have been sufficient but GC put the first rounder on the board straight away.

AFL quality goal kickers on the list are basically Amiss, Treacy and Freddy. That’s it. Switta can provide a bit but it’s ****ing dire. Baker is a must, Collard developing is a must, someone in the top 30 picks that has forward talent is a must
