If operation - ‘get Warner’ is ‘got Warner’
then there will be a few mids to move on from our list…
I hope no one is too attached to the likes of Erasmus or Brodie…
Need exposure to get any value back from any suitors.

Even with Fyfe probably in his last season or so, I can’t see us keeping all of them…

Saw Issie Winder live today at the derby- although he has kicked goals - he is a mid, not a small forward…love the way he moves.
Apparently carrying a bit of a knee and told clubs he will need surgery post season - may not be finished at AFL level but he is happy with his lot….

He was arguably best on today. I was at the game and he moves well.

On a scale of Gus Brayshaw lock to Luke Jackson lock, what are we talking here?
People inside the club are very confident they can get him over. His family supported freo. The way I see it it’s very much the same as Jackson. He’s really good mates with sharp. If Sydney win the flag this year I recon it’ll be a lock he requests a trade. There must be that pull as well to be part of winning that first premiership with freo. Especially with the list we have now.

Is this fact or rumour

Bye week contract extension anyone?

Everything I wrote in that paragraph is true. I haven’t had chad Warner personally come up and tell me that he’s coming though if that’s what you’re asking is fact or rumour.

No, it's just that people on here can tell rumours instead of facts for various reasons. I posted ages ago that Jackson's mum 100% wanted him home as she told my mate on holidays at Broome a few years ago. That is a fact and I understand if people didn't believe me at the time.

I'd love Warner to head over but I just don't see it happening. I really hope that you are right.

Yeah fair enough. I hope so too! I’m rooting for Sydney to win the flag as much as possible this year, as long as freo can’t come left field and win it themselves.

Please join me as I raise a glass for the quality crop of young blokes who have been traded in recently.

Jordy, Dogga, Sharp I'm looking at you.

What a change it has been from the Lyon era when it seemed like the only talents we could attract all had significant risks and sometimes hung under dark clouds.

If I wasn't a kicked dog, I'd swear that word was out in player land that something special is on the boil with these blokes in purple.

Sorry to burst your bubble.
Yes, to the mates thing, but his family were Geelong fans, but did have a soft spot for Freo when Max Duffy was with us.

Well if he wants to come back to Perth and his family supported Geelong but had a soft spot for Freo, in a two team town, that makes Freo his club of choice doesn’t it, he can’t “come home” to Geelong.

DOCKERS

B: H.Chapman, A.Pearce - C, Cox
HB: J.Aish, L.Ryan, J.Clark
C: J.Sharp, A.Brayshaw, H.Young
HF: J.O’Meara, S.Switkowski, M.Frederick
F: J.Treacy, J.Amiss, L.Jackson

FOLL: S.Darcy, C.Serong, N.Fyfe
I/C (FROM): M.Walters, B.Banfield, C.Wagner, B.Walker

Next in line. M.Johnson, N.Erasmus, T.Emmett

By the end of 2025, Fyfe and Walters will more than likely be gone. There are not any major weaknesses in our side, outside of the small forward. Hopefully we can close that gap this year.

If we get too good small forwards, players like Switta, Frederick, O'Meara will pushed up the field and we have a squeeze for spots.

While Baker would improve our side, especially if we get Warner into the side, I am not sure he is a big enough upgrade to justify bringing him in.

Wagner, Banfield, Walters probably will be the 3 replaced by two small forwards plus Warner. Fyfe can be replaced by one of Johnson, or Erasmus.

On the other hand, Baker is a known B grader who plays on the outside, and we need more outside players. He is probably a better player than we could get with our last 1st round pick, and if we have a salary cap to get him and Warner, we should do it. (If we get Warner next year, then we still have enough picks this year to get two small forwards)

I'm onboard with #chadlocked but maybe you missed the weekend? #flagmantle
I’m not David King, I watched the game mate. Freo are incredibly fit and left Melb for dead. That was a big statement to the competition. I’m not a fan of that Freo hashtag, can we at least hold off on it until the finals please.

A lot of “ifs” but if Port and Pies stay middle table - We could feasibly get Warner for our top two picks (and maybe our 2025 second round pick thrown in as well), Baker for our mid teens pick (when we finish top 4) and Charlie Cameron for the Saints second rounder we have.
There will be a hell of a lot of “Flagmantle 2025” tattoos if so!!
(Ps, yes, I do border on the unrealistic side of optimism but it’s a nice place to live!🤣)

I just heard a rumour from Gossage saying Curtin was keen to return to WA in particular Freo.

Rumour is from Gossage so it was probably crap but I'm not sure where he'd fit plus as a first year first rounders he has 3 year contract unless Adelaide agreed to get rid of him.
