On what Bolton has been would be great but one thing worries me. Mark Duffield has said on a number times be wary of '2 stroke' players. He likened players like Stephen Hill to a 2 stroke engine. They can go from stationary to Max speed very quickly but once they break with injury they can't be unbroken.

He then compared other '4 stroke' (could have been V8) like slower moving run all day rarely injured like David Mundy.

I'd put Shai Bolton in the 2 stroke category and I wonder how many kms he's got on the clock?

All chips in for Warner and Curtain. Warner is that goal kicking Mid/HF that we so desperately need. Chapman slides to a wing and Curtain instantly plugs into our back half with ease. 195cm, mobile defender that can play small and tall as well as potentially be a huge mid in years to come. His kicking is elite, which gives us Ryan, Clark, Aish and Curtain who have the skills to chisel one into the middle of the ground from D50. Baker is the back up if the previous two don't get up.

Ps. Imagine Charlie Cameron gets done for unders also which is a serious chance. The Vegas debacle is real...
How does a Young managed Cameron get to Freo.
Curtain contracted for another 2.5 years, what trade gets that done

If we humour it for a minute, it only happens if Richmond are open to it so I don't think it's some insane overpay though still hefty.

Bolton more of what we need IMO but flakier both in performance and possibly heading back to Vic.

I don't think you can read anything into Warner on this, just that we clearly have capital for one more star and we'll ask all the questions.

Trying to understand the games being played here with someone giving this to McGuire and I just arrive at Colons a campaigner...

The Bloke is contracted until 2028…even Colon being a campaigner doesn’t float this boat, unless Richmond have decided it’s a tyres up rebuild

Rather Warner…Bolton is a once a month star…once a month a good player and two weeks a month, “who the **** is wearing the skin of Bolton” player

I can see that campaigner being campaignery enough to do it out of spite to mess with other deals we are trying to close

Don't really see why Bolton would want to move his young family across the country when he can get the same money staying at Richmond. In these cases it's more about where the partner is from rather than the player. And I'm pretty sure his girl is from Vic.

By my count we are now at:
IN:
Logan McDonald - Out of contract
Liam Baker - Out of contract
Chad Warner - Contracted for 2025
Daniel Curtin - Contracted to 2026
Shai Bolton - Contracted to 2028

OUT:
Liam Reidy - Out of contract
Max Knobel - Out of contract
Neil Erasmus - Contracted for 2025
Sam Switkowski - Contracted to 2026
Bailey Banfield - UFA
Don't do me dirty with this Banfield malarkey.

Taylor What salary would Bolton be on if he made the move over? Is there any chance we could fit both Warner and Bolton in? I assume in this scenario he comes in a package with Baker so unlikely.

I think Bolton would be well paid at Richmond. I doubt we would offering him more to play for us.

I think he would have had a glimpse of the hard yards he would need to go through if he played at Richmond for the next 5 years. He probably sees Freo on the up and hopes for some more glory in the 2nd half of his career.
