Also for all the talk about burying the hatchets etc - there’s just still just a bit too much of a yuck factor about the WA sides trading best 22 players. I could potentially see it with a developing 2nd, 3rd year player. But yeah nah, don’t want any household name Eagles thanks

Doubt Knobel is our 4 th best ruckman. He just isn't ready for Afl.
Also the Eagles have a heap of developing ruckman including highly rated Harry Barnett who they used pick 23 in that relevant draft on him. Makes zero sense for Eagkes to target Max Knobel. They are a very decent chance of landing Tim English, which is a good thing because Flynn is no good.

Liam Ryan bleeds Eagles he ain’t going to Freo.

Harry Edwards has looked promising as a young key defender but outside that there is nothing much. Grainger-Barras or Busslinger would be a good addition.

Hawks would likely offer their pick around 10 plus Grainger-Barras which would be about right.

Luke Jackson & F1 for Jack Williams. Way brighter future

Banners & Emmet solid as tonight. Not sure a first for Baker to push one them outs really worth it.
At there best yes but there issue is consistency you don’t know which version of them is going to play each week

Out of curiosity, am I the only one who isn't fussed about getting or missing Warner? Have said for years he's overrated and I still believe this.

I think he'd compliment our midfield nicely, but I also don't think he's worth crazy money.
I did think the valuations were over the top and based too much on team form but don't think there's anyone else (within reason) I'd rather add

Agile smaller goal sneak forward is the most obvious glaring hole in the side.
100%, if we can somehow land the next Walters or Betts in the draft... Not looking like the strongest draft though but maybe Walls has some targets given that we traded for future picks last year.

This explains why Barrass to Sydney trade won’t happen this year.

Regarding our pick 2/3 and F1, the only way I can see a trade getting done is with multiple picks especially when we’re likely to be favourites for the spoon next year.

Eg: our F1 for pick 6 and 13 as the meat of the deal.

If you were unable to get Bolton, I also think we’d be interested in a trade involving Liam Ryan and your 4th choice ruckman Max Knobel.
Ryan is a grub. The media will have a field day if he played for us.

Champion kicked 3 for Subi league side on his league debut, but the expected changes in NGA will almost ensure he ends up at WC
Excuse my ignorance, what expected changes to the NGA? Have been keeping an eye on him at times, hasn't been setting the world on fire at reserves level... but 3 goals in league debut, well played

There is some talk that NGA's may be allowed for all clubs irrespective of the round but there will be changes to the price via points changes. Just a case of when it comes in, this year or next

Can a player in an NGA tell the club they are linked to they don't want to be taken? If I were in the Eagles NGA right now I'd be saying thanks but no thanks.
I wouldn’t think so. They are no different from any player drafted, except that “their” club has first option.
