As someone who is watching on the AFL website, were Fly and Hine genuinely shocked/disappointed?

Just watched his highlights, looks ok, more of an interceptor rebounder than a key defender. Would need to put on a lot weight and muscle

I don’t think that’s the case, there’s no benefit to doing that sort of thing at this point of the draft when clubs can match for essentially free.

Why do you say that? I doubt at these picks clubs try to force a match on the bid.
The Pies like him and he seems to have upside and can run.

There was almost zero benefit from forcing Sydney to bid. Hine obviously likes him.
