How's Richmond's timing! Win 3 flags and drop then load up ina supposed super draft.
Setting them up potentially for another dynasty if it pays off.
They made out like bandits on Rioli and Bolton trades...unreal.
Super drafts are to some extent overrated. No matter how good a draft is that’s a massive roll of the dice to get the picks right.

Expect them to roll some of these picks into next year to even out the risks.

They have a very long term look about their approach, and predictions about dynasties are ridiculously premature.

Sadly true

Hopefully we stick to Leppa’s comments and get some key position types who play tall and create a contest. No athletic combine specialists please
I 100% agree. If they can’t take a contested mark, what’s the point?

Looking at Josh Treacy’s profile and it has the elements you want:

Standing at 194cm and 94kg, Treacy has a strong body that is hard to move in one-on-one contests. He averaged 1.2 contested marks per game in the NAB League last year for the Pioneers, and was one of the more consistent players in his bottom-age season. He possesses a penetrating kick that helps him take set shots from long range, so is suited to the role of a leading forward. As a co-captain of the Pioneers for this year, Treacy leads by example on and off the field and is somewhat of a barometer with his attack on the football and ball carrier. Whilst it can occasionally get him into trouble, Treacy does not waiver in his courage both aerially and at ground level, which led him to an average of 2.8 tackles per game in 2019, a pretty impressive feat for a tall forward.

Freo thought he was worth a punt in the rookie draft. ‘Strong body’, ‘contested mark’ ‘hard to move one-on-one contests’ ‘penetrating kick’ ‘attack on the football’ ‘courage’.

How does rolling them into next year even out the risks?

They'll have the list spots this year otherwise they won't be able to take them all into the draft.

I think they'll use the vast majority in this highly rated draft.

And they'll have pick 1 again next year.

I suppose they could try to gain a first round pick or two in order to trade them next year.

Different talent pool is my thinking. All the eggs in one basket in the one year is a very risky way to play it, regardless of how this alleged super draft is supposed to be. Anyway who cares, it’s only Richmond. I just disagree that their approach is some miracle strategy that assures them another dynasty.

Besides Richmond and their disastrous supa draft many years ago, I can't think of any clubs that have gone in or had such a riches of first round picks before. I'd just use them all this year and develop them together. This is much better than the Tambling draft and they can cover every area of the ground from mids to talls, whilst allowing them to bond at the same time. I understand your trepidation but I'd just go for it.
