AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
This is going to be a long week.Love seeing everyone examining the draft, strategising about which of the talls we can get.
I'll be amazed if we get more than one tall (and I bet it'll be a KPB if so). Spare yourselves the melts.
We do not need players who "BUTCHER" the ball. In a sport where margins can be very small, we need players who are good kicks - and hopefully on both feet - & can handball efficiently.I think you're asking for a lot here. Sam Lalor is 188cm and in the young Jordy mold - will probably go pick 1.
Luke Urquart is the powerful mid who is considered liekly to go in our range, but he looks like a butcher.
The highlight video of Urquart made him look undraftable to me - it wasn't only that he was a technically shit kick - he was just throwing it on his boot without looking. I hope we don't pick him.
Tay Adams built his career off it and did well enough lol Just as long as you have positives that outweigh your negatives. We do not need players who "BUTCHER" the ball. He was talking as though there will be no pick swaps though and going solely off what Brisbane and Essendon currently hold. There will be pick swaps. Who knows what gets used to match when all is said and done.He thinks our 52 will come to to pick 46
Nofair call. Seriously is there anyone who is of young jordy mould who could be available at our picks.
Think if collingwood were to make a move for one of brisbane's pick in the 40's ,it will be done fairly early in the draft. So we do have something to look forward to on the first day of the draft.

brisbane will use up all their picks on the first night, so if we were to make a move for one of their picks, it will happen on the first night.No.
Edit - Hey NMBB, I forgot the full stop with the previous "no".
If there is a part 2 of the trade with brisbane, it will be on the first night. They won't have any notable picks on the second night. Our trade partners to move up 10+ spots will be essendon, gc or brisbane. Not Really.
I watch it but won't be on my Computer while I am doing something else
Different on 2nd Night
Could but still won't have a Pick on Night 1If there is a part 2 of the trade with brisbane, it will be on the first night. They won't have any notable picks on the second night. Our trade partners to move up 10+ spots will be essendon, gc or brisbane.
Oh yea I wasn't implying we will draft on night 1 , was merely stating that we may still be involved in draft pick trade.Could but still won't have a Pick on Night 1
We won't really move up 10 spots. Even if we trade up to 42 a fair few if the picks between 42 and 52 will vanish in matching. If there is a part 2 of the trade with brisbane, it will be on the first night. 42/43 should move up as well when the the picks that brisbane,gc,essendon and carlton have in front of it get used up. Unless off course they all trade out of those picks, then it is a different ball game.We won't really move up 10 spots. 27,28,31,34,38,39,40,41 are all tied to Brisbane, gc,essendon, carlton.
So if they all those picks go, 42/43 can go up to 39, our pick 52 may only end up moving by 2-3 picks .
Remember even if our picks move up, they will be pushed back down by 4-5 spots after the player is drafted. So the gap between where 42 ends up and where 52 ends up may stay the same.
