Usually when I’ve read this thread other years I see names being thrown around about who we’ll draft. Not seeing that much this year. I know why but still can someone give me a name that I can at least listen for that we might look at at pick 653 on night 7 when we get our first pick.
There are a few tall options that we may consider with our first pick if available.
Charlie Nicholls
Charlie West
Harry O'Farrell

Hope not he is the key defender that I keep coming back to. Key fwds I feel there are more options
I wouldn't worry too much what end they currently play. Moore, Howe and Murphy were forwards and Checkers and McStay were defenders.

By the time we get the 18 year old in our sights, he’ll be 21

Assuming Sims is off the board it’s Gerreyn for me.

A taller Taylor Walker clone IMO. Also has the body to play early and will be a brute in a few years.
I think we need select tall players that:
  • like Gerreyn, become and powerful target that always force a contest
  • Aerobic machine that work up and down the ground but have the ability to use a burst of speed / can but a least some size on their frame (so they're not always bumped off the ball)

Further research done and I still hope we pick up Josh Murphy.

He's also 2-3 days after being a December baby.

I wonder if he played other sports growing up?

And I wonder what type of exposure he had to the elite pathways.

Best part is we might not need to pull any levers to get him.
Slower Steve Johnson.

Gerreyn's weaknesses are listed as lack of endurance and lack of speed, but as a big, strong contested marking target he's pretty good.

You really make my no blocking people rule hard to follow…

But I’ll stick to it, even if it is just to laugh at all your comments
I actually do have him blocked, but he's right about this.

He's only a Taylor Walker clone in the way that Dylan Shiel is a Judd-clone - Upright stance and running style, similar kicking style, but Taylor has some of the most innate forward craft of anyone we've seen in the last 15 years, so it's silly to make a comparison of anyone to Walker when that part of their game is missing.

It's like calling someone a Brayden Maynard clone when they're extremely soft - It just doesn't compute, and makes the whole comparison invalid.

It's just someone's assessment and opinion about an 18yo kid. Are you a fan of Logan Morris?, because if you are , he's one of the slowest players in the comp. It's not silly to make comparisons on here, we're all amateurs vinnie, just like you.

Wrong. Terrible post. Comparisons have nothing to do with comparing.

You remind me of my maths teacher who promised to pass me as long as I remain silent in class and then failed me. I will not fall for that again, will I?

You missed the fine print. He said "silent in class." Rather than silent after jumping out the window and running off to get up to mischief.
