I wouldn’t be surprised if Thurstfields interview was a ploy to signal to other clubs to pay up if you want pick 2. There seems to be this narrative that we’re desperate to trade back. We aren’t going to trade back unless the deal is right for us. It’s a win win scenario.

Noice Thats Nice GIF
we'll take KPP with all our other picks (incl traded in picks) after we take FOS

Yeah. I like FOS as a choice but the thought did cross my mind that if we wanted anyone else it would make sense to talk up our interest in him.

Alright brains trust.

Let’s say Twomey's nailed this. If we don’t get any worthwhile bites for our f1 in the first 17 picks, would you be prepared to put it on the table to Sydney, GWS or Richmond, if it means we can get two of
  • Trainor
  • Hannaford
  • the Whitlocks
  • Faull
  • Hotton

(Sydney, GWS and Richmond all have at least two picks between 18-30)
If things go the way Cal has predicted and if the tiggers aren’t desperate to get their hands on our F1 for pick 10 or 11 if Tauru is there, then Hartley needs to hand in his fake Mensa membership. Been too clever for his own good. Had his chance for FOS and could now land pick 1-2 or 3 next year.

So FOS with pick 2 if Tiggers take Lalor, or if they take FOS, we take Draper. This makes a lot of sense to me. I said earlier today, I don't think the Lalor/FOS thing is necessarily locked in and inter-changeable between us and Richmond.
Interesting. I think we’d take Lalor at 2

Unless we can find a decent swap for pick 2, where we get Alix and another pick in the early teens we keep it. Everyone saying we have too many mids, have a look at the mid depth. It's not that great, plus the afl is moving to be all about speed. Go for FOS at pick two, can play everywhere and will play straight away. We need to wins games next year for fans, media, our survival etc.. keep LDU. Load up on top end talent when you can, build trading capital like GWS, so we stay competitive. FOS, McKerch and Sheez is an elite finals midfield.

Ok FOS will be a great pick up.
Moving on to the next scenario. I believe that in a buyers' market we are not getting fair value for F1. Therefore we will be looking the next batch of talls that could be available with a trade of F2 and F3. Who are we all thinking?
Sims?
Gerryn?
Nichols?
Mraz?
O'Farrell?
