This is my top 10
  1. Sam Laila
  2. Finn Callaghan
  3. Arlo Draper
  4. The Flying Viscount
  5. Anthony Trainor
  6. Will Dawson (only missed this draft by 3cm)
  7. Mick Jagger
  8. Brent Harvey-Chris Langford (you get 2 players in 1)
  9. Darcy McPherson - if we're serious we should offer our F1 to get this pick
  10. Levi Ashcroft - clubs refrain from bids until this point not wanting to pollute their trading relationships with Brisbane
Mick Jagger at 6? You're dreaming, I've seen his YouTube clips and I rate him top 3 for his dancing feet in Start Me Up

Interesting, Cal thinks Demons may take Tauru at 6 (after Ashcroft bid) if Crows go Langford at 4.
Draper might get to Saints then if Tigers go Smillie or Bo Allan. Could be some shock picks.

I'm trying to avoid reading a lot of what is being said and written, but can somebody tell me why clubs aren't expected to bid on Ashcroft early now?

Because the AFL came out and said that they will be looking very closely to make sure that no one makes side deals with Brissie not to bid. In the AFL sphere, this means that deals have already been made and the AFL has actually issued a preemptive 'nothing to see here'.

Fair point. I'm planning to revise my top 10 tonight with late mail.

Robbie Williams flying into contention where he gets depicted as an ape in a movie. Movie studio saving $ not requiring CGI or prosthetics.

But it's hard to say wIth Jagger. Yes, he moves well. But Gary Lyon can do the same song and save the stones millions in soft cap.

Makes you think.

I think its all smoke and shadows. Richmond will use pick 1 on him to give themselves another 5 crucial minutes before making their decision.

I don't know why. It's very odd. Lions can't really afford to trade any picks out to match bids on Marshall and Ashcroft unless they get a points gain plus "we won't bid on him" bonus.

Then we bid on Lombard to buy 5 minutes… he is worthy of pick 2. Ashcroft 1 Lombard 2. Seems about right

Shifter Sheahan - "Herman Pernorkel...the boy with the dancing feet...comes from the Gippy region... the purple norkel they call him...real hard worker... good ball user and a real competitor... clubs would be very happy to get him."
Up on the big board he's elite in every category.

Player comparison "Taller, more controversial Gary Ablett Jr"

Camera pans to David King lighting a post-coital cigarette after declaring this kid taken at #11 by the Western Bulldogs will be a legend of the game, "what a steal".

2 years later Herman retires to pursue a Jim's Gutters opportunity, fresh off 0 career games.

Not sure if this **** stick posts on BF, but if you want a giggle over lunch have a look at some of the absolute tripe he puts out there under the guise of “working in the industry….

I know it is a few weeks old, but it was still good for a laugh. I don't know if @stickers_bown is a BF member, but good on him/her for sticking it up the author by telling him that he wouldn't have a farking clue about what's happening behind the scenes.

Poster Rick thought that we would agree to trading 2 for 6 and 18, which I actually think we would accept if a better offer wasn't forthcoming. He then gave me a laugh when he said that Richmond would be smart to then trade 2 on to either Melbourne for 5 and 9 or the Saints for 7 and 8 without considering that if those trades were actually available that North would do that business with either of those two clubs in preference to the Tuggers. Perhaps Rick is a late contender for this year's Darwin Award.
