Also I think a decent comparison for Tauru in defence would be Nathan Murphy.

Maniac at the ball, can mark anything, not super polished but super impactful, play taller than their height. And Tauru has about 3-4cm on him.

We have all our picks and likely need to move 32 because of those pesky academy bids.

So we will get those picks if we want them.

The issue here is that you probably don’t want to slide 2 back that far and no one is giving anyone a bounty for future picks this year.
I'll say it again but more clearly. We can't even get two teens picks for selection #2. You'll be fortunate to get the pick you offer returned to you with the addition of a future 2nd. Ie: 8 + F2 = just 8. It was a little subtle I admit, but your response was likely that you didn't get it, and that makes me sad.

Has there ever been a draft with so much funny buggers? I've read that Carlton don't care if FOS is there at 3, they probably wouldn't take him anyway. I've heard that Adelaide aren't keen on Draper and that Draper is not that keen on Adelaide. I've seen Richmond happy to hold pick 6 because Simile will probably still be on the board, Demons excited about the prospect of Tauru still being there at 5, and of course us having a transparent interest in beating Melbourne to Tauru by pulling the trigger at 2. Will be an interesting first round.

And then next year this time you’d say the same.
I agree.

That's the clear sentiment of many on this thread.

Trade our F1 for unders because this is the last of the super drafts apparently and last year was average and next year's crop will be average.

I'm not sure how people can be so certain.

You won't know the strength of a draft year inside a few years at least when these kids are playing against elite men week in week out.

That includes our haul of 5 first rounders last year. Give them ago before you start lamenting taking them.

Btw. I don't envy Richmond's haul when you consider the talent they had to give up to get it.

Still think Richmond are complete fools. Could’ve stitched up pick 1 and 2, possibly in consecutive years. 6+10+18 for 2 and F1 I reckon could’ve been the deal.
That would supercharge your rebuild. Ah well. Let em be.
*Cue the TigTok responses.

*Actually prefer you stay on your own board.
6,10 and 18 for 2 and our F1 is terrible for us.

Giving up 2 likely top 5 picks for none in return is a hanging offence.

I am going to shoot the next poster (with a water pistol) who suggests trading a F1 for a later 1st rounder this year.

Why?

Are the entire 2025 crop shitmen?

Are we winning the 2025 flag?

People realise the top 3-5 players are more often than not elite talents each year, yeh?

We don't have to finish off our list this year.

Where ya gunna shoot me? I think you’ll find Brady is keen to trade into this first round. Mightn’t be our F1, but won’t be surprised if it is.

Nah 6-10 and 18 is decent would take that. Not sure tigers would.
They won’t mate…….and it’s a mistake by them IMO.
They’ve been kissed on the dick by the hilarious Rioli trade and think their head recruiter is an idiot savant. Clearly missing the fact the Suns treat round ones like candy.

If this draft ends up being as good as everyone says it is, then why not do it? I'd imagine the coaching staff and list team would be very keen to wrap up the heavy drafting after this year.

Regardless of what we do it's going to be captivating (and very very scary) to watch... Can't think of the last time we genuinely had no idea what we were gonna do on draft night. Maybe 2020 with WillPhil?

If we want Tauru I can't believe we didn't take the saints offer of 7 + F1 for 2. I doubt Melbourne take him, I think the report that they're interested is a ruse, even if they did we could select another tall/mid. We could trade the saints F1 and our F3 to richmond for 18 and 23/24
Melbourne will take the left over of the top 6 mids (Ashcroft, Lalor, FOS, Draper, Langford, Reid). Outside chance they could reach for Smillie if they like him and think Saints will pick him with one of the next two picks.

Saints neeed mids more than KPP. But if they keep the two consecutive picks it would make sense for them to grab a key forward. I would have thought Armstrong would present as a more enticing choice personally.

In short, (and not knowing squat) 9 is the earliest Tauroo comes into play. Swap the future first to Melbourne for him.

I still don't get why we aren't more invested in Harry Armstrong. He is rated higher amongst most power rankings by draft experts, has a far better body of work behind him almost matching that of a Cadman, did it in the Champs, is a much bigger need on our list than an intercepting defender, failed forwards can end up being gun defenders anyway, and we have Jack Darling for 2 years that he can develop under.
I would say its because not only does Alix have enormous potential as a defender, but we think as a forward he can be just as good, maybe better, when you find a player with this much ability, recruiters get very excited, more so when they can play both ends of the ground. Yeah the quietness on Harry Armstrong is interesting, I have big wraps on Harry but IF we are hot on Alix its because we think he's going to be better. FOUR DAYS TO GO, UNTIL ALL OUR QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED.

Need to look elsewhere to trade out F1 > Melbourne pick 9 or GWS pick 15 +F2 or 16 +F2...better than 18 from the tiggers..

Doesn’t sound like a worthy pick at 2 then. Given Murphy was what, pick 39 in his draft year? And some on this forum think we should take him at 2. What a waste of a pick
