I know a saints supporter who is convinced LDU is going to them also. Why would LDU choose that club seems completely lost on them.
LDU would never go to the Saints. Why would he leave us to go to a team that will undoubtfully have less future success then we will. We are a much more promising outfit for future success with the crop of young talent we have. The only team besides the normal bigger clubs like Collingwood that I think he would consider should he move would be Hawthorn with so much promise and a successful winning culture over many years. He was a Hawthorn supporter as well. He wouldn't go just for money as we could match what any other club would offer. He likes being at North so it would only be for future success so its time next year we proved we are on the march by putting results on the board. We do that he aint going anywhere.

Ok so I'm on the Fos at 2 train, but want to join the fun so....

At 2 bid Ashcroft to buy time.
Crows use their f3s to get someone's F2.
We trade 2 to Adelaide for 4 and the F2.
Crows get their man (FOS?)

At 4 bid Lombard to buy time.
Then when there is only 1 top mid left at 4 we trade 4 to the Saints for 7 and their F1.
Saints get the top tier mid they desperately need.

At 7 take Tauru

As soon as Kako bid comes trade the F2 from Adelaide for 31(28 ess).

Trade Saints F1 for what will be 19 to GWS.

At 19 take Trainor

At 32 (ess 28) take Dattoli/Hannaford or Simms/Gerryn

If forced match any River bid or rookie.

Job done!

Tauru
Trainor
Gerryn
River

Full stock of 25 picks

If only it was this easy.

Could we get 27 of lions and promise not to bid on Ashcroft maybe for a future pick and 62
No I don't think so. I'm sure we'd offer not bidding, F2 and 62, but it doesn't quite solve their points issue matching bids on Ashcroft and Marshall. Blues would offer not bidding and 38, 63, 68, 69, 71.
Also teams like Dogs 35, 48 (extra 121 points) or Saints 32, 47 (extra 197 points) might be in better position.
Bombres have a lot of picks but have to match Kako bid so no real benefit for them to bunch up picks unless they get a future pick out of the Lions and they'd probably be better taking our F2/F3 and trying to use them to get back in.
