Must've been sick or something.

I'm not a particularly fast runner, and the first 2km of my 5km jog tonight was faster than his - I was strapped to a large dog lunging in opposite ways to where I wanted to go. 🤣
Maybe, bit surprising. Just surprised his endurance appears to be poor when he puts in lots of repeat efforts.
it didn’t prevent him from having a dominant Grand Final.

not to mention a stronger finish to the season than FOS

No doubt he was awesome in the final and had a good finish to the year. Doesn't change that his endurance needs some work obviously. His intensity and workrate make up for it I guess. Still pretty raw, plenty of upside there.

So we've been looking very very closely at the guys around the mid first round and we have done our due diligence on them, that is interesting, also this going around that Dylan Alexander has heard rumours that a few recruiters have questioned Harry Armstrong's character and that he will slide, he's at pick 16 on Cals phantom draft.

I would find this hard to believe, but if true then it explains why Jobe and Jack Whitlock are now in the firing line in the first round for certain clubs. We are not even in the home straight and yet it all seems to be happening. With some St Kilda's supporters on their board losing their minds over Cal's phantom, who knows what will happen, one more sleep Roo boys & girls!

Is anyone else terrified we're actually going to draft Tauru at 2 or 4 (if we get crows pick)? Had a deeper dive into his actual performances this year and they're average for the most part. He didn't make the All Aus team. The underager Duursma had more impressive stats in many games for Gippsland Power. Tauru was literally projected around pick 15-25 a month ago before the combine and media hype train.

People say Tauru fills a need but does he even? An undersized key back that has below average kicking. We have Combden filling that third back role and Logue and Corr are the bulls. If we are set on Combden going forward, it makes sense but I actually like the look of Trainor better in that role. Much better kicking and we won't need to reach for him if we trade back in the teens

Ultimately, I think we're stuck at an early pick and just need to go best talent available with another mid. FOS, Langford, Lalor all showed they can adapt in other possies
I'd be surprised if we took him at 2 over FOS. Pick 4 it would be hard to pass up one of Jagga or FOS, assuming Crows go Draper. We'd probably feel more comfortable taking Tauru at pick 6 or 7 if we moved back.
Ultimately, whoever they think will be the best AFL footballer is how they would rank them.
The mock draft shows he's rated top 10 by recruiters and Dees Jason Taylor said he's in the mix at pick 5.
Sometimes there's games going on but it seemed a pretty instinctive no bs comment to me.

As for our interest we can only really go off what Thursfield said that he had a "two week block before champs where he had almost 30 intercept possessions, no one really does that... then came into the Vic Country squad... found his feet... showed he could play forward as well... his ability to compete in the air and on the ground is pretty rare".
How much we rate that I'm not sure. We'll find out tonight.

Do you think criticism would be fair if we were heading for the bottom three?
It's a 2-3 year thing and depends on the player that we get. The player that we draft might be better than anyone in the 2025 draft pool, but they also might not show that in year 1.

If we trade our F1, the discussion on whether we should have done it will dominate this board and other North communities for the next 18 months, at least. Unless the player is a Sheezel-like immediate gun, or we make finals next year.

I might look stupid come day's end but Twomey just doesn't get the top handful of picks wrong.

You can take it to the bank that FO'S is ours.
The only way we dont take FOS is we are offered 6/11 for pick 2. Thats the only way. The chances of that are slim to none, I dont believe you will look silly, spot on

Anyone know why the Aints think LDU is a lock to go them in 2026? A few seem adamant on their board

From what I understand they've literally just convinced themselves it's gonna happen because they are the closest club to his mum's house. There will be a lot of tears if he stays, and even more if he goes to the Hawks or Pies.

Because Harley Reid will be playing for us - Beer belly and all, alongside his best mate (FOS) and brothers in law Zane and Willem Duuuuursma.

Yeah, so was Josh Kelly too. According to them, we were never in the running.
I’d be more worried about the Hawks.

Well it's obvious. If LDU was looking for success, where else would he go? Such a rich history of achievement.
