The final ESPN Phantom Draft has us drafting FOS then trading our F2 for Noah Mraz.
This is with O'Farrell, Sims and Gerryn still on the board.
Don't mind that

but i reckon we can get a higher pick than 31 for our f2

feel like we should be targeting a mid 20s pick for that

The Mrs heard Finn on Nova this morning.

Apparently he confirmed he knows the words

Hearts to hearts and hands to hands
Beneath the blue and white we stand
We shout god bless our native land

NORTH MELBOURNE

NORTH MELBOURNE
**** knows where he would have heard them...

Sphynx gem's dating back to July 24:

I think we will need pick 1 for FOS. So it’s not really something to fret over for a few months
.
I think the far safer option would be to keep building the versatility of our midfield group with someone that can play either Mid/Fwd or through the Wings and Flanks and look to fill these needs later in the draft.
.
FOS ran one the best Yo-Yo readings of the last 6 years. He matched it in his bottom age testing also.
His 1000+ Yo-Yo is on par with Olli Hollands and Sheezel and they ran 5:90 2k’s. Better than McKercher as an example who logged a 960. The CTL average is 550.
So yes, you’d be completely wrong about that.
Elite Agility and Vertical also and has a 3 second 20m so is plenty quick enough with that lateral movement, bounce and engine.
He’s a better athlete than his cousin in a bigger frame in just about every department.
.
FOS will not drop below North's draft position, wherever that ends up imo.
He trained at North in preseason and arguably suits the list more than any other of the top 5 or 6.
.
FOS.
Plays off the wing.
The same place as Dylan Stephens, Bailey Scott and Liam Shiels has lined up this season.
I doubt there's a bigger positional upgrade we could achieve at the top of the draft than that one.
There's no midfield group I can remember in recent times that would have the quality of FOS and McKercher lining up on wings, with the strength of our clearance group.
It really would be the perfect young midfield group.

These posts got me onto noobermensch's FOS vids. And these posts, softened the blow after the many losses throughout 24.

Sphynx get's his man. Congratulations!

What does the S in your username stand for, bychance?

As does Sphynx !!!

Preference 1: Finn O'Sullivan
.
It's pretty much best case scenario for us. I reckon we end up with pick 3 and the fact he'll barely play might work in our favour
.
I personally think Finn O'Sullivan is the best player in this draft, but can understand how people might arrive at some others, particularly Smillie.
.
FO'S has to be the pick. The only reason we don't end up with him is he gets taken before our pick.
.
A starting midfield in a few years time of LDU, FOS and Wardlaw with guys like Sheezel, Mckercher, Simpkin and Powell running through there too is flat out unfair.
.

Without focussing on specific positions, generally speaking the weaknesses that North needs to address through acquisitions are legspeed, foot skills and defensive ability in the midfield and F50.

That leaves out a few highly rated prospects including Tauru who I was never overly keen on. If he hadn't been linked to North when we really only have #2, I doubt there would have been nearly as much focus and hype around him and I doubt he would have been touted as a top 10 pick.

I still hope we won't burn our F1 on a punt when it should land us an almost guaranteed gun next year and instead hope we'll use our F2 for another pick in the late 20s. I don't really care if we don't fill our full quota of senior list players next year if it means hanging on to our F1. We're not going to use all 38 players anyway.

Seems like Carlton are going to take Draper, I think Adelaide might take Langford, Jagga Smith to make it to Melbourne??

I love your posts, but time isn't on our side. Lets bring in 2 talls this year and get developing them asap vs waiting another year for another high pick.

You have to apply the context of how bad for so long we have been and its effect on players, supporters etc.

And if the tall we take busts (I'm not as keen on them on the whole as others are), and we do in fact end up with a top 3 pick next year?

You can't just throw common sense out because you're impatient. I'm not against trading out a F1, but you can't be wreckless about it.

Cooper Duff-Tytler is a prospect I'm very excited about for next year. 200cm super athletic, gets involved a lot. Throwing away the chance at him with a top 3/5 pick because we traded it out for a sub-par key forward would be silly to say the least.

I agree. Any future trading for speculative talls should be done with F2 and F3.

now here is a bloke we do not celebrate anywhere near enough.
I thought I read somewhere that this is as much on Keith as on us, ie he's happy to stay out of the limelight. Don't think he was disgruntled per se but happy to keep a low profile.

Come on mate, that's a less believable name than Herman Pernorkel.
Funny you say that.

Nearly fell of my chair seeing that surname (not Pernokel) on here.

Know the extended family very well but had NFI there was a budding AFL talent amongst them.
