What are the odds that we were one of the 2 clubs that didn't speak with them?

It was reported recently that we’d been speaking to a lot of players around that late first round range. I’d be very surprised if we haven’t spoken to both of them.

I no longer thank we are sliding back to 6 or 7. We are taking this kid at 2, or at best 4.
In a draft where there isn’t a clear number one the media need someone to create some hype around in the lead up to draft night and a blonde haired, high-flying Swede with a catchy nickname ticks a lot of boxes for them. I’m not convinced we take him.

Hard to get too excited until we know if we’ll be using Pick 2 or two other completely different picks on the night.

I’d love us to use 2 but also trade our future first out for a couple of other top 15 picks on the night. That would be fun.

On tigs board 🫣 saying they knocked back 2 and future 1st for 6/11 please

Could wing be an option for Jagga? The Ollie Hollands role, similar build?
No, waste of this talented on baller, imo.
Not often do you find a kid at u17 then u18 dominate, consistently find the ball, read the tap work, read the play, slippery and always constantly moving and such a sharp football brain...if he can adjust to the speed of the AFL game, whoever drafts him will have a star in the making.
Slight frame, whatever that's what strength and condition coaches are there for.

Imagine if their only job was to say in interviews pick trades need to be good for us. Probably why nobody has any idea who we might draft.
Mate I didn’t intend it to be a
shot at thursfield, who I reckon is doing a good job; my gripe is - like many others I suspect - how the whole thing is dragged out as click bait. I mean a trade period that goes for 2 weeks and anything of substance gets done in the last 30 minutes? Great for Riley and Cal but for the rest of us ….

I agree. Why we would we not want to double our Sheezel??

It makes no sense to me to avoid picking someone because he might win the rising star and club BnF in his first season.

Heaven forbid. Let's pick a lesser player, then. That makes sense. Not.
Well in your view Jagga is the better player. Jagga has similar attributes to Sheez (professionalism, footy IQ, decision making) but I don't rate him as highly in the contest, as versatile or as damaging with his possessions.
I rate FOS, Lalor, Smillie and Draper as better long term prospects at AFL level. That's just my take on it.
You are locked in on Jagga at all costs and only have eyes for him and that's fine.
The reality is we won't be picking and the club will take the best available that they rate the most.

Jagga Smith is the best mid available in the draft. I expect richmond to take him. I dont understand how he slipped to potentially pick 5.. makes no sense
Because clubs don't just look at just their form this year. They look at years of performances and try to predict the upside or what will translate in each of them as prospects at AFL level. They don't think he'll be the best prospect imo.
