100% should have walked away from the deal if they dont accept a future second

not cough up a second rounder in a draft where several kpp were to be available in that range
But.. we just drafted a KPP..

Like, literally a couple of hours ago... and we've also got an All Australian, Premiership winning, Backman with exquisite skills too..

A few people claiming we will target Jack Whitlock as well tomorrow, but is that even possible?

Aren't we precluded from trading out our F2/F3/F4 now we've traded out our F1? Or did that change?
And our next pick this year is pick 473.
we got the tigers F2 so would imagine we can trade out an F2

Melbourne got pick 9 for their future 1st. What did we get? 27+ f25. Well played Brady and co. Bunch of complete imbeciles.
The picks are irrelevant - it’s what the players turn out like.

So far it Whitlock & unknown v an unknown player.

Lets wait until we see what players fill the above 2 spots before throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Posters over rate picks.

We have the 2nd F2 now which allows us to move either on.
We still have our natural f2 so we can trade one f2 I think all you need to retain is a f1 or f2
Still don't see how that gets it done, unless we for some reason made an agreement with Richmond to trade tomorrow as a condition for the lopsided trade tonight.

Why would anyone trade down and into a supposedly weaker draft?

Also, I think it's kinda crazy there's no public document (similar to the AFL rules doc) that outlines trade rules clearly. Just articles that read like opinion pieces.

With all due respect…

No, no and no.

Show me even 1 poster who would have been happy with our f1 for 10 and 24.

We traded it for 2 mid 20’s.

Our draft people just have to be better informed, better organised and a shit load more ruthless.

It's time to move.

Get on board the bus or **** off.

TOP 8 Here we come

Toot.

You would get very short odds that either one of Richmond or the new Tassie team that’s 3 years away from playing its first game, could play a final before we do.
Based on nothing more than our recent form.
Our last finals victory was 10 years ago.

Clubs who are balls deep competing for flags trade out their future 1st round draft picks, when they are all in for the now.
Where the **** are we?

This is just another high risk move with a low percentage chance of it being successful that places unnecessary short term and immediate pressure on club and player.

It was totally unnecessary, just like the 1st round draft pick and future 2nd rounder we traded out.

The clubs still going through a cultural reset that it’s working through this off season, so who are you trying to kid here? Until the club proves that mediocrity is behind them, you simply cannot fully trust North with these types of calls.
Wake up

Sounds like you know first-hand that we didn't try everything possible to get a second rounder before offering our F1st?

ITK?..

Caleb Daniel was contracted to 2026 we had to pay a pick in the 20's MINIMUM to get anyone to come to our shit show let alone a former AA, Club F&B and Premiership Player who is contracted for another 2 years..

Christ, Daniel Rioli went for pick 6 and whilst their age and career have been almost identical, CD averages 6 more disposals, more marks, more rebounds out of 50 and 60m gained per game than Rioli FFS..

Don't know why I'm explaining it to you because you aint the full quid. Probably need to get the crayons out..
Daniel was not worth pick 25 Sherm. Sure he is a nice kick but not a penetrating kick. Does not break the lines. That is why he was moved away from the Dogs half back line. He is not much of a one on one defender. Won't move the needle at the Mighty NMFC. Poor Trade Imo. :stern look

I know what has been posted on this board… Literally months of tough talk over the value of our f1.

Just pointing out the the revisionism at play.

Find someone who prior to tonight would have been happy with our trading efforts. Literally not one person.

His job is to hit FOS, Kerch and co for them to break the lines. Fish and LMac couldn’t get the job done.

You and Nosrils forget how bad we've been ZondorOnipFish.

You don't knock back AA players with skill who fill a void, whilst letting our gun ball users Sheez & Colby move further up the ground to be more damaging for the sake of a pick in the 30's (which it will end up).

Some of you blokes want to stay on the draft pick merry-go-round forever and hope like hell we hit a few diamonds in the rough.. :rolleyeslook

Make no mistake. The trading of our Future First for Pick 27 and Richmond's F2 will go down as one of the most moronic trades to have occurred ever. Before hindsight becomes a thing I am giving you all the hindsight. Bookmark Thread. :stern look

Mate I am telling yah now he will not move the needle at the Mighty NMFC. He will simply retain possession with his dinky little kicks which wont amount to much. He will rack up 30 odd touches for not a hell of a lot. Like I said there is a reason the Dogs moved him away from that half back role. :stern look
