Just keep getting bad vibes about FOS...

He takes on tacklers and gets caught, he hurries kicks forward, he fumbles bouncing the ball...

There's something about him that just doesn't work for me.

If we're down to Smith v Draper at pick 3, I'm happy with either of them.
Been looking at a few FOS games / highlights and I’m not seeing it either BF. Very low possessions and form drop off this year compared to last year is a bit of concern. Hope we steer away from FOS tbh seems a risky pick imo.

I’d be happier with either one of Langford, Smith, Draper or Lalor.

Great point Robbie.

Langford’s numbers 26 disposals, 5/6 clearances per game stack up a lot better than some other highly rated mids like FOS.

Langford - MID, 190cm
National Champs: 25.5 disposals, 6.2 clearances, 6.2 marks
Talent League: 15 games, 25.9 disposals, 4.7 clearances, 1.3 goals

FOS - MID, 182cm
National Champs: 2 games, 11.5 disposals, 1.5 marks, 3.5 tackles
Talent League: 4 games, 17.2 disposals, 3.0 clearances, 1.2 goals.

Not sure speed alone is enough if you can’t generate many disposals and clearances. Langford also has a penetrating left foot kick and is in the top bracket of mids.
Now compare him to Draper and Jagga

Ordinarily I’d agree.

However!!!

SPS and Dow were POD’s and ended in tears.

Maybe Jagga is the guaranteed outcome and therefore the best option.

SPS was a bust but it just wasn't a great draft. This is. So the context is very different.

Picks after SPS- Scrimshaw, Logue, Brodie and Jack Bowes would all have been delisted by Carlton by now.

But drafting is very difficult so sticking with the best available player is very important.

I’d be happy with either of Jagga, Draper or Langford.

Was responding to Robbo’s post about Langfords qualities - has excellent disposal, can mark, play midfield and forward. A lot of his highlights show kicking long / short and hitting forwards - something we desperately lack.

Definitely see a clear 4, although haven’t watched much of Langford, also excludes Ashcroft cause I’m not counting him

Still think FOS is the one with the most upside, jagga the safest one. If I was drafting with pick 1 I’d go FOS Jagga Lalor and then Draper
