Who should Carlton take at Pick 3 if available?

No guarantee we take FOS over Jagga. 43 intimated Jagga higher on our list.

As for Norf, I reckon their strategy might be:

Pick 2 - take best available (FOS?)
x=3
Repeat:
Pick x - offer F1 to <holder of pick x>
if accepted, pick Tauru.
if rejected, x=x+1
Until <Tauru not available>

My concern is if you have 2 similar player and getting beaten it reduces your ability to change things up.

That said I think Smith will most likely be the best player in the draft.
Agree Jagga has very descent potential, he's what we desperately need, poise, skills and good footy IQ.
Draper is ready to go, dynamic and explosiveness its attractive, but his kicking lets him down a bit, O'Sullivan too is intense and skilled but can go missing during a game. s Jagga is the better choice for us.
All will be very successful AFL footballers.

I've been big on Draper since we got pick 3 but after further analysis of Smith I can see why he'd be a better fit for the team. Smith is ultra consistent, competitive, skilled and evasive. We are crying out for a mid who can lower their eyes and spot an inside 50 target. Too often we bomb long to Harry and Charlie and overlook short, hit up targets. Opposition defences hang back knowing we bomb it look so I genuinely believe he could offer a point of difference.

We are definitely going to take Ben Camporeale in the draft. Lock it in

...............................it's all I got
For what it's worth, Espn has bid coming in at 45.

Yes please!

Costs no different up to like pick 7 or something so we'd be bidding for the sake of it not preventing a cheaper price directly.

Does it? I read an article this morning and thought the rule was matching the bid - 20%?

Pick 3: 2234 * 0.8 = 1787.2
Pick 7: 1644 * 0.8 =1315.2

They'd have to pay up an extra 472 points of capital. It would be the smart thing to do to have them pay up.

historically, we've bombed long after pissing around with the ball between the HB to HF lines... too slow - by the time it's bombed in, the defence is set up (probably even yawning) and Harry or Charlie are double or triple teamed....

Getting the ball into them quickly, ideally with non bombs (of course), before the defence can get set is the point of difference Draper brings....

Can see the appeal in Smith but, to me, he's more of the same as Walsh and/or Cerra.

Club might also be thinking about who compliments our future midfield, not just the current one.

Cody Walker is probably not going to be a great field kick and it's Draper's weakness along with Ben Campo's. Not ideal. Not saying they can't all be competent, but I doubt it is going to be a strength of any of them.

Between Ben, Jagga, Walker we'll have a big bodied extractor (BC) a classy inside/out mid (JS), and an explosive mid/fwd (CW). Then you'll have Walsh the running machine still hopefully around. Looks pretty balanced. Plus, whatever happens with Cerra, Lord and the Hollands brothers.

Why would we let Brisbane get away with this?

Depends how we rate Ashcroft. You bid as though you are prepared to take the player if Brisbane don't match.

Either Jagga or Draper. I don't think there are going to be too many unhappy blues fans at the end of the day.

One of the reasons I put JS just ahead of SD, is that as an accumulator (JS) they tend to "link" more in transition, which is something our midfield seriously lacks. That player that can be involved 2, 3 or even 4 times in a passage of play. That's why they "accumulate" possessions.
Not saying SD can't or won't do that, but just feel JS to be better at it.
Either way, as I said, I don't think there will be too many of us unhappy after today.
