Game Day 2024 Non-Swans Game Day

It's nothing new, but watching the two games so far the incorrect disposal calls (or lack thereof) are so frustrating.

I actually had a look at the laws governing it and;

For the avoidance of doubt, a Player does not elect to Incorrectly Dispose of the
football when:
(a) the Player genuinely attempts to Correctly Dispose of the football;
(b) the Legal Tackle causes the football to be dislodged from the Player’s possession

Players are just taking advantage of the rule and the umps are following the interpretation they've been given, but if I never heard an ump again say "He tried" or actually realising that a player deliberately dropping the ball when tackled does not equate to 'dislodgement' I would be happy.

Rewarding the tackler, rather than seek to keep the game 'moving' would make me even happier.

I stood next to Matthew Lloyd one day during a break in a game after he just retired. Not tall for a full forward.
