Seems like there's a straight set exit pretty much every year since this pre finals bye came in. Almost never used to happen.

I think teams have done a great job of finding a way of countering going full lock down mode, trying to park the bus and shut down the game when they are like 3-4 goals down in recent years. Not as effective anymore.
Or this could just be recency bias from the past 2 years.

As an aside I’m not a huge fan of current approach to hands in the back. There is no doubt that players playing in front are being panalised because players from behind just push them out.

Yep that's why I said interesting era and not a failure.
Very hard to come from nowhere essentially to win let alone interstate. Also younger than the suns and compared to then puts in perspective .
But on the flip side arguably had the best list multiple years.

That may be true but I find it tiresome, they’re not some infallible Giants (no pun intended) and no scarier to me than Brisbane who actually play us really well.
Either way it’s good that the conversation is for the most part put to bed.
