Stevens looks a midfield version of tom hawkins when he arrived.. Little bit of puppy fat but if you walked past him in the street or saw him working out in a gym the ladies would probably glance over a couple of times... The AFL system has incredibly harsh scrutiny of what is fit and isnt fit. He will definitely not be an 80-90kg player, his build is gigantic
Absolutely. It's what makes all the armchair comments so ironic. As you say, if you saw him walking down the street you'd think "That bloke is in good nick, probably goes to the gym a lot".

It's why I've been so defensive of him. He's a kid, who's had a year out with a knee, he's earned some slack. He'll be more than fit enough with a pre-season or two under his belt.

Really good point on his build too. His shoulders are huge, almost Kouta esque. He's naturally going to be 10-15kg heavier than the average player on that alone.

good post! I wouldnt be shocked if his end weight is 90-95kg at his leanest point. He is naturally a very big boy.. The tommahawk of midfielders

Ollie Wines is 187cm and 98kg. I can see George playing at the same size.

Like the comparison - would be very nice outcome if George develops to Wines impact for us.
Listening to George’s post draft presser I think there was a degree of ‘surprise’ that he slipped to a pick in the 50s. I suspect George will be additionally motivated in pre season.

Yep. Sounds like he's got a chip on those very broad shoulders of his.

Disagree. Clearly very heavy with not much muscle tone. He will need to drop some weight and then rebuilt.

The WA boys are down.

Maybe George can be our Bews replacement ?
Wouldn't have thought so.

He's got a talent that you can't teach, and that's the ability to find the footy. Feels like that would be wasted a bit playing as a stopper.

Plus, with his pace being pretty average, I wouldn't want him chasing after the Charlie Cameron's of the world.

If he is to play as a backman, it'll probably be as a Shannon Hurn type. Interceptor with a thumping kick.

Compare that a more accurate picture

Clearly needs to loose weight to protect those knees before rebuilding the body into an AFL athlete.

5kgs to 10 max id say. I reckon he might end up 95-97kg once he fully bulks up

Spot on. Our balance will be interesting.
Personally I think Bews and Tuohy are done, but it wouldn’t surprise if they play round 1.

We did the same with Higgins and Dahlhaus in 2022, and Higgins was done a year before he got here.

I reckon we’ll reward strength of pre-season early, including blokes who may not play much of a role for the whole year.

I agree with that.

Was thinking the same thing.

Fingers crossed for a very good run with injuries for the entire preseason/season.

Who of our 1-4 year players are yet to start pre-season?

Conway.
Foster started pre-season but is now injured according to some on here.
Anyone else?

Of the senior players, J.Henry set for a late start, but who else?
