An extra night training to work on fitness
Sometimes tough love is the only approach with some folk. Carrots are fine, but when you run out, there's only the stick that remains.Arie being put on blast for all the world to know is the most disappointing aspect.
How does that help anyone?
We’re a buggernaut.Bring back Scotty Watters.
Doubt its just he's unfit. I think probably an attitude readjustment. There was a poster saying he missed a session after a big night. Was Arie recovering from anything? Or is he possibly so unfit he cant train with the main group?
Midfielder Zac Jones continues to be carefully managed and again trained away from the main group on Wednesday, while draftee Arie Schoenmaker ran laps for most of the session as he completes an individual conditioning block.Doubt its just he's unfit. I think probably an attitude readjustment. There was a poster saying he missed a session after a big night.
If it was just lack of legs they'd be whipping him during the main sessions. Only so much you can run before you get hurt.
Sending him to the VFL would be more a wake up call.

The 'bridging professional standards line' feels like a quote Cleary was fed to read between the lines on.Doubt its just he's unfit. I think probably an attitude readjustment. There was a poster saying he missed a session after a big night.

Arie is the least athletic/natural runner of the new recruits though.Interesting though - all the other first years seem to be keeping up. All the same I dont mind it - sends him a little message - hopefully he is smart enough to get the hint.
He wouldn't be able to stop.himself from interfering with the footy deptGT for CEO me thinks

Sometimes professionalism is about what happens off the field as much as on it.Nothing I have seen at training from Shoenmaker would suggest he is not giving his all or has not got the right attitude.
Hey that's another way to look.at things!!!!Well another embarrassing season has already started to unfold at Moorabbin. Our coach has bullied every good person out of the place, we’re stealing money from a charity, we sack our CEO and now our star draftee has been delisted…..and it’s only January!
The only thing we can go on is what is in front of us.Sometimes professionalism is about what happens off the field as much as on it.
I'm sure we had players who trained and played their hardest but switched off their 'elite sportsman' switch once they left the gates.
Not saying that's what is happening here, but sometimes on field behaviour can be deceiving.
I think it's time to get Max into the midfield- pretty mobile for his size, great skills..put Steele at FFDow is a big loss unfortunately. Midfield looking a little threadbare to start the season if Crouch is also injured.
Was Arie recovering from anything?

Exactly. We have a pretty settled backline as it is, with - I would imagine - a few more senior bodies ahead of him in the pecking order if injuries occur. He's barely had orientation. It's a year of learning for this kid...the dream is now a reality for him, it takes work, so wakey wakey bucko. The 'bridging professional standards line' feels like a quote Cleary was fed to read between the lines on.
It's not like 2024 is make or break for Ari anyway. Once the season kicks off, hopefully not getting picked in the ones lights a fire and gets him on the right track professionally to attack the next preseason.
Don't know about King into the midfield, but wouldn't mind seeing him at CHF; and am certainly a fan of Steele getting more time forward.I think it's time to get Max into the midfield- pretty mobile for his size, great skills..put Steele at FF
It hardly matters. We got him with pick 82, the alternative was keeping Dmac whilst we're flush with wingers and maybe Tassie will offer us something for him in a couple of years. Or, he works out and we have a player with some real campaigner and a cannon leg on him.Exactly. VFL will be good for him.
Batch, and this Carrol fella, will put him straight.
