I personally think you have too many promo players with the same bye in Round 6 (Gawn, Petracca, Bolton).

I can't see a valid reason to start Flanders in the middle. No point with the forwards being so crappy. I'd change it up to get him forward.

Obviously there are risks with Jackson, Bolton and Rankine in the fwd line but if you are willing to take those risks then go for it
Figured with all the speculative forwards this year DPP Mid/forwards will be handy come byes time, Expecting Rankine to spend a lot more time through the midfield this year, same with Bolton to the point i believe(hope) they will get DPP status and be easy upgrades.

Super cookie cutter, but my best seasons have all started with 'basic' teams.

Young & Flanders are the two I'm most unsure of. Would love to get up to Sheezel and Bolton.

Edit: Could do Young + Flanders + Walsh for Sheezel + Bolton + Steele

Just about the most balanced/cookie cutter of any of my many teams ive posted. Structurally it looks pretty good and ive spent plenty on rookies so i shouldn't be scrambling for an extra 20-50k or whatever when teams are announced for round 1. I actually would have selected a few more PODs but as it turns out they are all round 0 players - Coleman, Anderson, Rivers, Bolton & Walsh (not a POD) - and i think ive maxxed out my exposure.

Flanders & Grundy have been in and out of my team plenty of times, especially Flanders. Its Dimma's words about Flanders that have swayed me currently. I think if the coach loves him, he will likely spend a lot of time on ball. I also selected him because pretty much all other options are round 0 players or have some sort of question mark. I think Grundy will be good but im not convinced he will be great & has the poor bye. Ideally id have a bit more money and id go Rowan but it just unbalances my team so Grundy is in.

Pretty happy with backline and midfield, liking the look of Wardlaw and think he can take the next step in 2024
Decided to go with Jackson as ruck cover at F1 over Macrae
Unsure on Billings and Williams but hard to turn down at that price
Open to thoughts on overall strategy and player selection

There’s only one big question left - is this the year for the premier midfielder of the future? :p
Unfortunately not .....too many mouths ....too many going thru the midfield

Are you ignoring the early Bye rounds ?

Some of my teams are so cray cray Ive been stirring my coffee without me hands.

Your Chol wouldn't knock the foth of a cappuccino.....:moustache:.

Haven’t given it heaps of thought but definitely should be wary, what would you suggest I change?
Given the early Byes are best 18 ....you have picked a lot of early Bye players, meaning you'll be relying on rookies / mid-pricers to compete against sides who are "thin" on early Bye players

AFL SuperCoach 2024: The Phantom’s breakout contenders and players who could take the next step

George Wardlaw (NM)

$365,400, Mid
2023 average: 65.4
Predicted average 2024: 93

He’s been a standout on the track over summer and, importantly, the numbers are similar, too.

Wardlaw averaged just one point less (65) than Oliver did in his first eight games, despite low time-on-ground and a sub-affected 30.

Connor Budarick (GC)

$301,200, Def
2023 average: 77 (2 games)
Predicted average 2024: 84

But two of those came in the final rounds of 2023, with Budarick working his way back into the senior side to tally 29 kicks – 24 of them effective – and record SuperCoach scores of 71 and 83 in the club’s last two games of the year.

He was still playing as a small-defender, but the attacking traits of a player who averaged 25 disposals and 155 SuperCoach points in his draft year were on full show.

And new coach Damien Hardwick was impressed by what he saw.

Yep, thanks for the help, how many early bye players would you say is too many?
Given Rookies / Mid-Pricers with early Byes will get quicker price increases ....pick the best

There's still a lot of debate on how many early Bye players ......some say none ...but there is a school of thought, one per bye round is OK
Remember, players who play R0 ....score in one less game than all other players

IF your R0 Premo scores 110 ....assuming with best 18, early, you'll have the pick of the rookies ....a replacement rookie for your premo may score 70, which means you're 40 points behind a team that doesn't choose a R0 premo
The argument is the 40 point deficit can be made up over the season (less than 2 pts a game)

Top o the mornin’ to ye, splendiferous participants of the SuperCoach board.

I’ve managed to crack the zero bucks, zero ****’s code.

Round zero scores could change the makeup of this squad dramatically, as I’d like to include Daicos, TukTuk, Walsh and Gawn in my starting lineup. J Macrae’s injury, the Bont spending more time forward, and a lack of C options are all going to be determining factors in deciding whether or not I run with something like this.

In my defence, I’ve been relatively settled on this squad for at least 4 minutes, so I could be onto something here.

Makes sense, thanks again mate, I'll get back to the drawing board!!

Sinclair not playing the practice matches with a calf injury. Might be worth having a plan B there.

Yeah I know, I believe from speaking to people down there it's at this point precautionary and he should be okay for rd 1, but obviously calves can be a bit of a problem. Happy to sideways to someone else if he doesn't get up. Maybe Stewart.
