Ooooo Nelly .

Dirty AS * over on the Freo board!!
I can understand why and would be too if I was them.

But I'm not them so they can go **** themselves and relish another close loss to the mighty Blues.

Freo were ugly. They dragged us down to their level. They lucked out with some stupid defensive decisions from us. We always looked the more likely team to score, but just couldn't until the last.

Any team who plays like Freo just did, is never going to get a big enough margin in front. The opposition is always a chance to let class prevail.

It's a hard watch but they'll win more than they lose like that.

6-9th but struggle with the teams above them for the reasons you said

News on Elijah? Looked live like he was winded and landed on his hip. Was hobbling like an old man afterwards.

Live it looked like Fogarty got Fyfe in the throat. It did look pretty bad.

Umpire 19 loves the spotlight. Pretty sure every free kick that ended up a goal was paid by umpire 19. The McGovern high free was a shocker.

Would love to see our forwards lead at the ball carrier.

Freo, for the numbers back, always had someone compete on the quick kick out of defence. We never were able to get repeat entries.

Good old fashioned tough footy. Both teams should be thereabouts come finals.

Stats are interesting. Again we have no real huge possession winners. For the whole season only one player has once passed 30 possessions and that was Cripps against Richmond.

Jack Carroll's TOG all season has been low and was really low in this game. His possession tally is pretty good and has been all season considering his TOG.

Plenty of big ball winners in defence. We have a really strong defence offensively. Most of our defenders can play on any line and play high or deep. Most are capable of 20+ possession games. So many of our defenders are capable of getting off the chain. This would be one of the most difficult challenges for the coaches when playing Carlton. Particularly compared to the finals series last season.

I haven't seen the game but 14 marks to Kemp is huge. He's putting his hand up as genuine best 22 player. Looks like someone who has come of age. If we can't always find a spot for him in defence then we should be trying him in other positions like wing of forward.

Carroll has been ok but we are carrying him a bit with his low TOG and hes clearly our weakest link in midfield...im worried that there's too much load on our core mids with Carroll only a bit part contributor at the moment and injuries to Doc, Walsh, Cunners and now E Hollands.

Smashed at clearances today isn't a good sign.

I've seen games stolen before, but that was Ocean's 11 level stuff.

The good: Weiters. Saad. Charlie. Effort for the whole four quarters. Clutch moments from multiple players in the last 5 minutes to get the result.

The bad: We played their game rather than making them play ours. Clearance and contest work was well off. Relegating Owies to sub.

Always good to get the win. Hopefully in addition to taking the four points we'll also take the lessons that are there for us to learn from that one.

Just a learning to take (Chugga), when you have a free kick or mark in the last minute of the game, with a lead of less than a goal, take the full 30 ******* seconds off the clock
He took 20. When you're set, you don't want to wait longer. It's a mindset thing.

Go back 35 meters, wait till you’re called to go, walk in slowly.
Say he misses the shot.
20 seconds end to end is tough but doable. 10 seconds is impossible.

I believe the rule is that you can’t blatantly waste time, even if you theoretically have a maximum of 30 seconds available.

Most of the time, you’re getting your breath back, or getting up off the ground, trying to get someone to give you the ball, or have the umpire confirm the mark. Chugga didn’t really have much in the way of excuses to draw upon to milk the 30.

Think I heard the commentators say it was Elijah's abductor where he got injured.

Fog's hit on the replay looked like it got him in the upper chest area.
