100% I’ll put my hand up. I was both patting him (Ollie) on the back for a fantastic performance and also responding to posters that he is in fact worthy of a position in the team.

I corrected my use of the word hate/haters. I’ll Apologise for that

My comment about Ollie was literally the last line in my original post which included a whole list of other great things about tonight’s game and players and coach. But for some reason there’s a fixation on the last comment.

So you don’t like my post or comment. And it’s apparently ok for you to call my comment and post lazy and not constructive because you don’t agree with it. But apparently I cant respond to other posts with my opinion because it doesn’t agree with yours?
Hhmm double standards much!

I'm not sure that you actually read what I said.

I said that I generally don't agree with calling posters out as I find it lazy. This is whether they say something I personally agree with or not. I explained why.

Double standards would be if you see me calling out posters for expressing contrary views on players. Feel free to repeat my words back to me if you see it. I'll gladly put my hand up and do my mea culpas. It's just not good for discussion.

Carlton has its best home and away win in many years and ALL Carlton supporters should be buzzing with excitement.
Come on to big footy to read how great Cripps was or Walsh ran his heart out or congratulations to Kennedy for a great game in is 100th.
Unfortunately the site is again spoiled by petty posters trying to one up others to show their superiority.
Very strange way to celebrate such a magnificent win and such a great day.

Finally got home. Many alcohol stops and a great night out and all I will say, look what happens when we folowering decide to apply pressure!
Charlie, Harry and TdK with 3 goals……….Cripps, Kennedy and Walsh just superb in the middle. Seriously how good was Cripps and Walsh? Just love Batman and Robin when up and about!!
It also doesn’t matter who is in or out - play your f@#$*ng role……….Go Baggers.

See you next week through the MCC glass. :) I’ll try to behave but cannot guarantee. :p

Not sure if it's as black and white as that.

The belief seems to be that we can't play Cripps, Hewett, Cerra and Kennedy in the same midfield and that hasn't really happened for the most part. Kennedy still played up forward a bit tonight.

I'd also suggest we took a number of marks and scored from lowering the eyes and leading into space. Certainly wasn't the cluster that we usually see for half the game.

The two rucks had a huge influence, but it took one to be an effective forward when not on the board, and that isn't something that happens every time. It didn't happen last week.

A myth is something speculated about, but doesn't exist. I reckon there has been evidence to support either case, and it's very much a sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't situation.

I think there was a massive overreaction last week, and today we saw that 2 ruckmen isn't detrimental to our output

Hewett and Kennedy can coexist, both had impact. Ollie had his best game, Cotts was massive early, kept us in the game

But, I agree, it's more about intent of the whole, rather individual performances

And he sticks em. Very strong lad.

That's the stuff I really appreciate. He's not the best tap ruckman, he often gets a little lost up forward with the other big boys up there and our occasionally poor delivery. But when he turns it on, he is irrepressible. He just has these periods where he does things a big man shouldn't do.

Best I've seen the midfield play since the Melbourne and Collingwood games.

Cripps was like Darth Vader cutting through rebel scum in Rogue One.

Walsh was like... Omni-Man. Too strong and dominated.

I thought Round 0 was our best H&A win in years... well, this one tops it absolutely.

I think there was a reaction last week. Whether it was an overreaction or valid, I have no desire to get into. We looked slow last week and Pittonet particularly wasn't very good.

This week, both rucks were very good. Does this week dispell last week because of its recency? If they don't both work against Geelong next week, is it valid or an overreaction? I mentioned the black and white philosophy. I much prefer to acknowledge that certain selections and certain tactics are horses for courses. If they work, you're a genius. If they don't, your a goose. That's the nature of football.

I mean, I'm prepared to guarantee that two rucks is not going to work the same way for us every week. I hope it works more often than not, but I also hope we consider the opposition and venue at times.

Again, I haven't seen the comments that Kennedy and Hewett can't co-exist. I'd be interested in seeing the centre bounce attendances. I can see merit in any notion that we can't have those two and Cripps at the same centre bounce. It's too one-paced. Unless of course we are sure handed with our first possessions and we are getting a heap of taps to advantage.

I don't think that was Ollie's best game for Carlton. For the year, definitely ... but that's not saying a massive amount.

Cotts has been good for a few weeks now. He has added a heap to his game. I don't see anything but praise for him these days.

Shocked to see Fantasia far outstripping Owies and Durdin with pressure acts. Durdin had a couple of eye catching efforts out there so I expected him to have a heap of PAs.

Did we score more from clearances or turnovers?

You'd think clearances since we kicked our first 3 goals that way and it was the reason for our 3rd quarter burst. We did cause a lot of turnovers though, so it could just as easily have been through that method. No substitute for 6-6-6, 2 possesions and a goal though, as opposed to a back half turnover and multiple moving parts involved.
