From todays training pics. Looks good to go

Cincotta in the background… looks like he’s focused on Zac’s Achilles. 😀

IMO Cerra is a gun mid.

The issue is we are trying to fit in Cripps Hewett Kennedy Walsh Carroll & Cerra in the same side

The choice is some need to play different roles at times or we can’t play them all in the same side

Not to mention Elijah and others having midfield minutes

Cerra has played HB before and Kennedy has played there at times over last few weeks so we are already doing it
If Cerra plays I can see him playing as a half back who spends time in the middle. Long term going forward, we haven't really cashed in on Cerra's ability to play forward, so there is every chance we see Cerra playing half forward and on the ball, which puts pressure on some of our half forwards. Cottrell and Hollands are in decent form but we might see Cerra as an upgrade on Cottrell in the same role. We have some good problems.

Newman Weitering Durdin
Williams Kemp Cerra
Acres Cripps Hollands
Hollands McKay Cottrell
Durdin Curnow DeKoning
Pittonet Hewett Walsh
Boyd Kennedy Cuningham Owies
Carroll

Might see a team like this if Cerra is fit? IMO pretty good side if it plays similar to last week.

Highly unlikely we would pick two players who have not played.
Durdin no games for the year & Cunningham had not played in a month, possible sub if Fantasia is out.
High pressure games there won't be any changes barring injury.

Don’t have a problem with it if we’re short on half backs but otherwise its no for me. Not sure why Cincotta wouldn’t come in if Williams doesn’t get up and Cerra in for Carroll (of the list mentioned above).

Carroll can start at HF and Raz can go sub.

UNCHANGED.

Carlton has named the same 23 from last week for the Round 7 clash with Geelong at the MCG

Jaxon Binns, Alex Cincotta and Sam Durdin - now available after a VFL suspension from pre-season - have been named as emergencies

as predicated. Good result

If Williams, Boyd, Saad, Gov are all healthy, you won't see many mids spending time in the back half, but the likes of Cerra and Kennedy do have enough nous to play in the backline if needed

Takes me back to early last year when Voss copped massive criticism for the use of mids in the back half, but versatility is gold

I’ve not seen anything from training this week - how did Weitering look?

He was so proppy during last week. Hope the cork has come up okay, seemed to be a nasty one.

Gotta say, Kennedy has been fantastic when moved to half back the past two weeks. Looks much more comfortable to transition there when needed.

Let’s hope both ZW and Weiters are all systems go. If one needs to miss, I’d prefer Zac misses because of Cameron and Hawkins as well as Henry. Binns sub if he’s a late in for Orazio.
