Round 2
Lazzaro > Dempsey
Martin > Rowell

Round 3
Gibcus > Hore

A bit of sideways business potentially this week, but get Rowell in before price increases and sorts the backline bench out next week. Thoughts?

Is there any supercoach cheats ? I need another $1 mi
Yeah, trade out Bont & Fisher - that’s close enough to $1m :p

After a few attempts, I’m going to keep it simple & have settled on this…

Out: Fisher, Gibcus
In: Hogan, Massimo
I have convinced you it seems ;)

For everybody bringing in Billings this week 10 year player 157 games
He will get injured this week and keep your bench warm

One of the reasons I like him is he played the ultimate seagull game.
They look for him for his kicking skills. Worlds first hff seagull.
I'm all over it
You really are selling him hard buttox !! If i get him and he stuffs up
Its all on you and you will be public enemy #1

Billings v Hogan v McKay

Martin, Fisher, Sanders and Lazzaro are my only real main let downs that are worth a bit oh and Young too but I'll give him 1 more week to perform or he will become Houston.

I
Fish and Laz no issue in dumping

Young is on notice, role will be interesting this week with half the freo side broken (unbelievable not Fyfe)

Martin can stay another week

Half the Freo team died so that Fyfe could live. So it be told.

At this stage looks like.
Lazaroo- T. Berry
Harmes-Billings

Leaves me with Gibcus and Reid to deal with next week.

Going to stick phat with Fisher. The role is still there. If he spuds up this week thought he is gorrrrneee.

Means I still have no Heeney or Flanders. Critical that Fisher scores as close to those boys as possible this week 😀

Guess it's been a while since someone used that classic SC board copypasta on here lol

Personally I'm passing on Billings. He will make some $$$ but watching that match live there is no way that his gamestyle is sustainable. I don't think I've ever seen a player take 15 uncontested marks and then chip kick it 25 meters. It was the ultimate seagull game.
He doesn't need to get 15 uncontested marks every game to be a key pickup. He's $243k with a history of very good scoring. There's a reason he was a popular pick before his R0 sub game. Complete opposite of someone like Fisher, who has zero history of good scoring, and people picked mostly because of one good pre season game (mistake Im def correcting this week, I don't even care if he scores well next week, he's just a shit player).

Also I don't see why Berry wouldn't be a primary pickup for most people. First two rounds should be about correcting to the right rookies for cash gen, not wasting time sideways trading. I don't have Heeney or Flanders and want both, but first two rounds isn't the time to points chase. If they continue to kill it and go up, you bite the bullet and pay up later, which is easier if you get the cash gen right.

Berry can score a 40 and still go up over 50k, and the 104 stays in his cycle another week for another low BE even with a poor score. Another good score his cash gen kicks into another gear. Not really at risk of being dropped. People are picking rooks like Dempsey over him, or others who aren't even on the bubble is odd. Ill also likely grab Dean if he's named on field again, likely means Fly just prefers him to Frampton despite some dodgy performances. Dean has some solid interceptor skills.

Going sideways is also Cash generation when correcting mistakes whilst also gaining immediate points

good examples are Heeney , McKay & Hogan

There's a few very common conundrums that people need to consider. It's not just black and white about the player and their cash gen potential.

1. If you have both Gibcus and ZReid, plus Zilliams, if you bring both Billings and Berry in, you're one scorer short this week (if you don't have a player you can swing into defence)
2. If you have both Cadman and Sexton already, add Berry and you get one less scorer next week
3. Do you boost after the first round?

Most can't have all the best cash cows, especially if your structure is ****ed.

Ps. The above 3 points effect me, thus why I'm reviewing whether Billings and Berry are worth it. On face value, simple yes or no (based on price, BE, etc), it's a yes, but there's more to it.

Cooling on Massimo for this week.

Eyeing up -
Fisher to Heeney
Gibcus to Hore/Coffield/Dean
Dean could/should be dropped
Coff was uninspiring
Hore - was okay, no idea on injured Dee's return time frames

I'm assuming the incoming player will be a bench player

Yep will be sitting at d7 long term (Reid at D8 for now)

Original plan was just gibcus to Massimo but want to watch him for another week. Thinking Heeney is close to a must at this point so may as well get him now (inb4 back to burn man this week lol)

If Martin spuds it up again, I'll probably go him, Reid and Burgess to Massimo, Dempsey and Lyons/Fyfe for R3

this - and also what you might need to do next week

next week I want to bring in Carroll and McKercher at a minimum. Then there is Sharp, so makes me want to go Gibcus to Mass this week so I'm not compromised next week.
to do that Fisher needs to go to Billings or Terry and means I pass on Windsor.

don't want to boost this week as they are best saved for upgrade season - will use one next week if necessary to ensure best cash gen though as you cant upgrade without cash.

While true, there's also a reason people didn't pick them to start. It's because they didn't think they would be keepers. People that decide whether someone is gonna be a keeper or not after 1-2 games generally doesn't work out too well (not saying it won't). The cash gen is likely to be much better done by good rookies than any of these players. Not saying it won't work out well picking up any of them, but I think the odds are you are generally better off getting the best cash gen possible, and waiting for extra data even if it means paying up, because less likely you grab the dud pick who just had a good 1-2 weeks. If you can still get one of those if you think they will be keepers while also getting the best rooks, then go for it.

I agree with the first point, and I am bringing Dean in for Gibcus with a boost if he's named on field. Murphy has the concussion issue, and may even retire, so his only competition is Frampton. Frampton IMO presents a big issue in defence for Fly, which is that while he's a better one on one defender than someone like Dean, he provides pretty much no intercept or rebounding qualities, which the Pies rely on for their game style.

Second point, my post was more about people looking to pick non bubble rooks over Berry. Not that Berry is a must have, though I think rookies on the bubble with his BE should be, they usually are every year, it just we have bubble rookies R1 for the first time ever. The simple fact is all the best rookies are generally always the ones that start the season. Getting the right ones is a do it these two rounds, or miss out. How you do it based on your team structure is up to the individual I guess. I think it's more important in the long run to get that right than maybe fielding 21 players in a best of 18 round, esp when they are rooks and not premos. Third point, I think you do for the right rooks, but again team dependent, and obviously avoid if you can.

I have Gibcus, Reid and Williams, the only logical choice is Mass for Gibcus if I want 22 playing, I hated watching Fisher play and wouldn't be surprised if he's dropped given that Sheezel and McKercher positioned themselves better for the receives, I'm beating Clarkson to the punch and ditching Fisher.

The choice of who to bring in is made for me with Billings BE of 5, I certainly don't expect him to score like he did but for a player priced at 41 I'm all over him like the proverbial, Fyfe could be an option (who can wait until next week) but I won't get my preferred target of Serong for Newcombe (who's not a keeper anyway) Serong's got North this week and WCE in round 6, from there the draw opens up nicely for Freo.

You're right with the Berry trade in, I have Cadman and Sexton, along with Green and would be fielding 21, although it's very tempting to take the punt with just 18 counting.

This. Plus the strategy around avoiding round 0 players has been pathed with after one week. People bringing in GWS/GC premos - they have the bye literally next week!
I think the score projections are on the low side for the Suns, and probably Green, too. Some of these of these guys will rise 40k+, plus pump out a better score this week than the player they are replacing. Also all having big second round scores is helpful in the next price change too. Green for instance will be heading towards 700k pretty quickly. Not completely sold on Rowell but another good score and he is out of touch.

If you don't grab them this week, the must have rookies on the bubble, will be the priority here on in, and even with a boost you may miss out till they eventually drop as the MN decreases.

One less premium in a bye round is not a big deal as it's only best 18.
