Trades 2024 Round 3 Trades

Very nice team you’ve got there.

I suppose you should just weigh up the pros and cons.

I only play this game for fun, and unless you’re playing cash leagues and have something on the line then wasting trades early and getting your team set is really no biggie biggie biggie.

At absolute best, the Wines/Young/Martin trio come good and become a serviceable M8/D5/D6, but to achieve that they’d need a Significant uptick on their current output.

At worst, you started them as stepping stones to better players.
Ryan and Serong are looking like they’ll be there or thereabouts at the pointy end all things being equal, and Powell could end up being a handy cow, or even an F6 by the end of the season.

With 40 trades and a chance to strengthen your squad even further, I’d probably go for those trades.

Cash gen looks set, cows are mooing nicely, and your structure looks mint.

Good luck.
I’ve narrowed it down from the Ryan Serong trade or this one

I need to decide if downgrading from Ryan and Serong to Steele and Nas, allowing me to keep Wines is worth it or not

I wouldn't want to not own McKercher. Gonna make a ton of money
Agreed, McKercher looks the best rookie so far. He's one of the few rookies you can field without concern and will probably sit at D6 deep into the season tbh.

Yep.
I think howes will cover nicely until he gets there.

Scoops at his level-headed best.
Keeping the combatants in their respective corners.
Well played sir!
Scoops has always believed that if the kids are united they can never be divided.
And Lord De Goey, carrying timber and unable to break away from the contest as he is, and Steven of the BBB persuasion, Scoops' conqueror by a single ****ing point in last year's prelim, are cut of the same black and white cloth, bleed the same.black a white blood, cry the same black and white tears.
And when you brought In Terry Berry and Jack Thrillings, stuck with VC Touk Touk over Butters, had Sanders and Cadman rotting on the pine while Sam and Terry Berry went the tag team underpant stain, you yearn for peace and reconciliation.

One man's meat is another man's poison, and only time will tell.
Windhager looked good, get the angle.

For what it's worth:
H McKay
Jordan Clark
D'Ambrosio
M Crouch
NWM
Windhager
T Powell

and a few others besides all have their own appeal, can mount arguments for a fair few plays his week.

Would you prioritise Pink over Dempsey / Sharp this week?
Not many DEF options on the horizon, the counterpoint being that With Zilliams and Mass, they aren't as necessary.

No way.

Absolute worst case scenario for a Reid/Coff type is you hold until round 7 and trade them to a rookie on any line and move McKercher/Roberts to defence. Reid will be back about then anyway.

No problem holding one non-playing rookie at D8 through the bye rounds.

Is James Jordan to Powell silly? JJ sas a 9 break even and looks like he could make another $50k-$60k before his bye and it was always my intention to hold him until then. But Powell could be a top 6 forward come the end of the season and will go up $200k over the next month.

My only other option is to trade Wines to Powell, but I am happy to stick with Wines over the next couple of weeks with no JHF and heaps of Adel Oval games.

Im highly tempted to bring in Lyons for Fyfe this week if named

Still think he has Ashcroft's role to mid year and didn't score that well last time he played given he gave away 2 FA in the first quarter and was off for an extended period with a cut eye.

Could of easily gone another 100

Issue I have is maybe Fagan gets fed up with him given his a bit of a plodder if Brissy continue to lose....

I would only trade Jordan to Powell if you think Powell can be a keeper. If you think his only a cash maker no point wasting a trade when Jordan looks likely to make some good cash

No gamBOL no future.

Daicos --> NWM
Gibcus --> Sharp
Laz/Sexton --> Powell.

Next week.

Reid --> Darcy
Jordon / Fish --> Flanders

Martin watch. Hopefully he bangs out another 90+ and we go Touk week after

Daicos back in after his bye depending on BE

If SBerry is named is there a point in dropping him for a Sharp/Dempsey. His BE is -5 but he is just a massive sub risk
Scores 50 and makes $25k.

Can turn him into Sam Darcy for ~$125k next week.

Unless you think Dempsey or Sharp can get to $350k+, then it's probably OK to hold a week.

Only want to make the 1 trade this week...

Young > NWM and have $140k left over.
Daicos to defense, Young > Serong $38k left over.

Which looks better? No way Serong maintains his current scoring rate, but will be a great player scorer anyway...

Sam Berry/Lazarro on watch. Might take the plunge and switch to Sharp or so for the coin. Freo' injuries should give him decent security?

Definitely the second one. Serong won't keep scoring at his current rate, but is a guaranteed keeper who won't be back at ~$620k for quite a while. Can't say the same for NWM, there's just not enough data and exposed form at this point.

Berry to Sharp is a decent shout, good chance he gets dropped this week.

Freo's injuries in defence don't really effect Sharp, his JS is good anyway due to their lack of genuine wingers.

Ok, so I need Mass and McKercher. That much we know.

The trade candidates are Gibcus and SBerry.

I'd happily stop there but don't have the funds to do those trades alone.

Question, which trade would you prefer to do to raise the funds (c. $50k needed):
  • Young to NWM
  • Fisher to Powell
  • Sexton to Darcy
Leaning the first as Young has been poor but very reluctant to drop premos (using that term loosely) after 2 rounds.

I didn't use any trades after round 1 so no issues using the 3.

Every chance Berry, even if named, will be the Sub

With his role, I could see Powell being a top 6-8 forward this season. 90% CBA and averaging 27 disposals (small sample size) and will be given DPP for flexibility in a few weeks.

Nah, they are going to find that Crouch is not working for their midfield and change it up :devil:
Crouch to be subbed instead - with Dawson getting more CBAs
Berry is just going to be that spare/ part-time midfielder

BTW - I'm just a bit bias as I don't have Crouch and keeping Berry for a little bit longer :straining:
