I tend to agree
The kid is passionate and wants to play.
Bevo is killing his confidence.
It's the reason daicos Sheezal and Kerch have been given easier roles. They've. Been the best player in there teams there whole life now to sub them kills there confidence.
Agree. The reaction in isolation isn’t great but he’s 19, he’s in his first season and he wants to play. He was also close to the Dogs most effective mid in the first quarter before Bevo did Bevo things and subbed him off for the second time in 5 games…

A good coach would just have a chat to the kid about his frustration - if this is a seasoned vet throwing a fit I think you would approach it differently but knowing Bevo he’ll probably just drop him for some spud like Lachie McNeil

The old way of bringing gun mid draftees into the league didn't work. Going from 30 touches a week to 10 for 3 years is stupid.
At least 12 months of that 3 years is getting confidence back. You skip that completely if you give them the easiest role on the ground at hbf. They learn defensive structures and are far more valuable to the team.

You see he wants to play with that reaction, but sitting on the bench and doing that is a poor look no matter which way you spin it. And if you think that reaction is good, then guess we will have to agree to disagree on that.

I wonder if Sanders had an ice-bath after the match ? :moustache:

So if you still had Serong, Rozee or the ultra consistent Sheezel to pick as your C, who would you run with?
Well as I only own Sheezel, Sheezel. But Serong if I owned him.

Pick Rozee.

Great post. Totally agree.

Huge day with 12 players on field, but I won’t get to follow it.

Just putting my trust into Captain Green - hopefully he goes to beast mode and get Steele on one of his off days

The Dogs are usually very very cautious over concussion but it was a weird one.
Personally it didn't look like concussion .....Libba taking a big hit to the chest, He may have had trouble breathing, and almost fainting

That's what it looked like to me

It’s not a good look. But I think we don’t realise how often these things would happen behind closed doors. These players are insanely competitive and tensions will boil over.

It’s preferable that it would happen behind closed doors, but I think in his fifth game the club won’t care too much about this. There will be a conversation and they will move on. And I’d guess they would see it as a positive that this kid loves playing and wants to win.

Also, I’d guess some would be pulling their hair out as much as Sanders at Bevos decision. He had 8 touches at 100%, 5/5 tackle attempts were successful and his TOG was low so he had gas left in the tank.Meanwhile, Gallagher, Bramble and a few others were having much worse games. Baffling decision.

Sanders wouldn't be conditioned yet, to the fact camera's and photographers have these players under constant monitoring ......always looking for a headline

I’ve been seriously winded before.scary, knocked all the oxygen out of my lungs.
Yep, same with me .....particularly if Libba has tried to play on, after being winded .....TWT, but this is a feasible explanation

6/665 (VC)

3/482 (VC) with removals (Bont, Sanders, Buku) Scores that count are all tons so far

Butters, Clark, Aish, Young,

Massimo, Luko, Clohesy

Would almost think we are paying Bevo under the table to make Sanders want to come back to Tassie for 2028. :eekv1: Sanders was having a good game from limited opportunities. He played like 40% game time and still had as many tackles as anyone else from Essendon. Didnt make any bad mistakes. Subbing him off on debut after a turnover was brutal. Now this. I can understand Sanders having a bit of a meltdown. But Bevo is a premiership coach and I am not, he might know that doing this is what is going to get the best out of Sanders long term. Let's hope so.
