I'm having trouble with the idea that Nicks's contract could be terminated before it even begins.

Yeah it's a stretch but who knows how these things are negotiated.

It's pretty well agreed that he was re-signed far, far earlier than anyone expected, so maybe this was a compromise to get an extension in. And he backed himself in to hit the performance clauses.

Sort of like Sergio Perez for Red Bull in the F1. Gets an extension with a crapload of clauses which he has now not reached, but somehow survived.

Someone I know who has strong connections to the Crows board has told me that if the club finishes with fewer wins than last year, Nicks will be sacked and we'll replace our head of football in a clean out. The KPI for this year was improvement and 7-8 wins is low enough to take action.

Apparently there's a few other staff members in the gun including a few I've never heard of, could be in the recruiting and fitness teams, not sure

This matches up with the info i shared last week about Marco Bello moving to Richmond as head of development. He must have been told his contract will not be renewed as he is prepared to move back to Victoria with out his family as they want to stay in Adelaide due to his kids being set with school etc.
