He is basically an elite mid / def player who can attack. He would be highly regarded. Port will regret losing him. I think they will be chasing draft picks more than players. Phillipou may not even be on the table.

If by reports clubs can trade 2 years worth of draft picks now, look for Port to spend up on missing pieces. So it wouldnt surprise me if Port offer a bucket load of futures now for players.

If I am correct
2024 - Port have no draft hand
2025 - Required to participate in the draft in the first two rounds.
2026 - can trade out these draft picks

I think we as a board undervalue what Houston would bring back in a trade, tbh. Especially in contract

The board also overrates draft picks.

Butters, Rozee and JHF could all request trades and there would be people worried about the picks the Power would receive.

Like I said in the post above Smillie hasn't really over impressed me all that much this year.

Certainly underwhelming for a player originally thought of as a lock for pick 1.

If it meant replacing Murphy, it's a no brainer.

I dont think ANB would be a good player for us. Ive watched Melbourne play for quite some time and frankly, his non statistical shape running needs a lot of work for him to be even considered best 22 material. Dont get me started on his deep defensive capabilities either. This guy needs years in the Sanfl to get up to scratch.

No, he's not someone who relies on good players around him as he does all the simple things well. He's a team player, someone who glues the team together.

He's easily in our best side.
