It's wild to me that anyone would suggest 2024 is a blip

2020 - 18th, 3 wins
2021 - 15th, 7 wins
2022 - 14th, 8 wins
2023 - 10th, 11 wins
2024 - 15th, 8 wins

I mean if you look at that you'd say the blip is the 2023 season
Not really, it show a slow gradual improvement due to a stuff up of the 2018 and 2019 drafts after a full list rebuild. Nicks stuffed up the first 5 weeks then we were playing catch up all season but loss to Essendon with the non HTB after the siren call, drew against Brisbane, close loss to Collingwood and it was season done then loss to Richmond at home.

At a million dollars a year?

The value that they assign to him at trade isn’t necessarily the same as the value that he has to their list or game style. It should represent what he’s worth on the open market. The problem they face is that the open market knows that they don’t have to pay true odds when a club needs to quit an asset. It’s a matter of time before Suns realise they need to accept the discount or work out a way to keep him.

You know how when your car breaks down you can identify a problem even if you don’t know how to fix it?

So you hire a mechanic, and if they can’t fix it you either find one who can, or you get a new car.

It’s like that. I’m a paying member, not a full time employee. It’s not my responsibility to come up with the solutions. But if we keep having the same problems, and the same people remain in charge, it’s pretty reasonable to suggest we try bringing in some different people.
Lets address your analogy .....in your example, you're driving the car ...however re the AFC you're not the driver, you're a spectator watching a car drive past you, and trying to assess a problem

I'm a shocking handyman, terrible .....if I have a problem with my car, my ability to "guess" the problem" is usually way off the mark

I do t want to make finals, I wanted 2 more years near the bottom to make up for the talent void from the failed first rounders that netted us Milera, Gooch, Jones & McAsey. I knew our version of a rebuild would be to gear decisions towards returning to competing for a spot in the 8 in the shortest amount of time possible. I wanted to stay down a bit longer to build a list that would compete for a spot in the top 4 over multiple years.
I didn't want to be down this year, never .....but the stimuli the Club has received is one of the best results, everytime we have one of these years ......off field changes, aggressive trading, and a #4 pick

I think it's safe to say, the Club is also not accepting, with some of the changes in the wind

HAW, I still believe, are a long way off a completing a rebuild .....this out of the box year, they've had, could be a negative long term .....DGB looks a bust at #6 for them

How do you reconcile that? In the context of a young rebuilding team, there's been clear year on year improvement each year that you've listed (albeit not as rapid as we might like)

2024 broke the trend.

Other Clubs will be better prepared for HAW next year .....no surprises

They were poor in the first half of the season ....one of their surprises, was the evenness of contribution across the team

I can't see too many "A" graders yet ....well, not enough

Your ladder % is a good indicator of a team performance ....we stacked up pretty well for a team only winning 8 games

Alec Buttfield - Major League Baseball (Phillies) & Adelaide Giants
Jared Hoare - Melbourne Rebels - Super Rugby
Rob Jarret - already with Adelaide AFLW Team

Yawn. Adelaide baseball is all but ammo, ‘super’ rugby ha ha and an internal appointment. Would love the AFL to disclose soft cap spend, no way ewe ever get near it. Except when paying out over-contracted staff.

2024 broke the trend.

7 to 8 to 8 wins in three of the last four years is not clear improvement.

That's a flat line, with a blip in 2023

Wild to think you wouldn’t have made up your mind when you are making a life changing decision.
Surely most players make the call 6 months before moving interstate when head hunted. Seems weird to be a 50/50 after you nominate to leave your current club.

It’s likely they’d prefer Port but it’s likely we’ve got more $ to offer. If Port swaps Dan Houston contract $ for a draftee, they’ll have more to offer potential incomings. That won’t be known until the trade is nearly done. If it’s to occur at all.

Would be strange if he recruited someone excited to work with him for 1 year...

Quality people attract quality people.

AFC need quality in their football department other than Burgess, starting with a major shake up of the coaches.

We also need board members with more relevant experience relating to a football club. We don't need hanger ons just padding their resume.

I actually have not heard Cummings say he wants to come to SA, only media outlets. Perhaps when he does speak he’ll mention a club.

People just need to chill a bit, season ‘24 isn’t even over yet
