The biggest issue we had was being a bottom side for years we had an unsettled line up and plenty of players coming for short stints.

There are a number of gun kids running around from a couple of drafts ago that could have been saints father sons. Bowey, Ralph smith, Anderson, Jefferies, fletcher. We are just paying the price for being a poorly ran club.
Yep, which is the argument against the father-son rule - clubs which were historically good are more likely to have 100 game players which means they're more likely to have players who qualify for father-son.
Yes he was. We flicked him and Dale Kickett at the same time. Both were 20+ possession winnersIt's an argument - there are plenty of good arguments as to why the rule is an ass.
Should we have gifted games to blokes like Bowey and Ralphsmith in order to somehow have access to their yet-to-be-born sons? What prescience that would have been (especially as the minimum number of games to qualify for F/S was fewer in the early 90s).
We should have kept Adrian Fletcher, but not because we could have drafted his sons. He was a gun.
How can the afl equalise this? Can they start a father son academy that standardises the training for sons of former players. That way we don’t get our father sons not making the cut while Collingwood get daicoses that are all Australian in 2 seasonsThis often repeated statement that our stars had daughters is not exactly accurate, i I remember. I certainly know Harvey, Loewe and Winmar had boys, some of our lesser lights did too like Matt Young, Frankie Peckett, etc.
The sad fact is they didn't take up footy or they did but weren't good enough.
Which begs the question, why not? Their dads had enough talent and presumably passion for the game to pass on to their kids, how is it that the stars of other clubs were able to sire players of equal or higher talent and determination and ours weren't?
Thought this might be the best thread for this stellar interview.
Because they know the reason for his poor form is that he wants to come home. Why would WCE want collard right now? Unless collard shows some improvement I doubt they'll want someone like that.
All well and good to jettison Gresham but you need to make the pick you get for him count. Right now it's making toce look foolish.
Thanks for posting CF.
What a sensational kid, you build premierships (plural) around kids like that!
So why is he then considering signing a two year extension to his contract.Because they know the reason for his poor form is that he wants to come home.

Thanks mate.He was working inside with the rehab guys on Wednesday, so must be carrying something or just generally sore?
He might not be homesick. So why is he then considering signing a two year extension to his contract.
Yeah, he might be homesick but that doesn't mean he wants to go home.
Pretty disappointing not a single listed player in the midfield
Looks like they are keeping an eye on another young ruckman.SANDRINGHAM (@ Williamstown Saturday 13/7, 3:05pm)

So we’re probably looking at taking him for the mandatory Sandy rookie spot?Looks like they are keeping an eye on another young ruckman.
#24 Brodie Findlay
Ruck | 199cm | 20/05/2005
Stats: 15 disposals, 4 marks, 14 hitouts
Findlay was again imperious in the ruck on Saturday, proving near impossible to manoeuvre or tackle. While opposition talls were perhaps more athletic, the over-ager showed good craft and timing to lead the hitout count. He also used his size to advantage in contested marking situations and while his ball use can be improved, his work around the ground has seen development this year.
