There are question marks over both teams best players. I love Butters and have been on his bandwagon for years now, but if Day misses then I hope Butters is too sore to play too.

If Day is fit then surely he comes back in for Maginess, Ward or Morrison? Can't see Breust being dropped from his super-sub role.

I think Ward had the best game of all three, and he has the highest scope for improvement, plus he should be a key pillar of our long-term plans.

But I suppose Mitchell has to consider the fact that Day would be playing the same midfield role as Ward, whereas Maginess and Morrison have played other roles in the side.

What is the outlook for Mackenzie? I'd love for him to play, but it would be hard to drop someone for him now.

If they are fit then I'd probably go for Day and Mackenzie for Morrison and Maginess. Breust remains the sub.

We've only had two wins out of 7 games against the remaining finalists. It gets challenging from here!

Aside from smashing Sydney, which is an awesome effort, Port's form has been average. Modest wins against very average sides. We're well set for this. Would love Day in the team but I'm not expecting that.

Port's selection will be interesting - will Butters get up? Will the play Dixon again?

No chance Dixon keeps his spot, unfortunately.

Only saving grace is that by all rights it should be 4 from 7. The challenge is that the most likely run to a grand final takes us through the 3 remaining teams we haven't got at least one win against, first is Port who we should have beaten, then Sydney and most likely Geelong who we never really came close against.

If we make it we will have deserved every bit.

Almost 17 weeks since we narrowly lost to the Power (and I reckon that one still hurts)
Boys will be on from the start and will keep the foot on the throat for the full 4 quarters.

Last time Hardwick kicked 5 goals - highly doubt he plays forward this time.
Calsher & Wiz had only really begun their AFL journey.
No Sicily last time & he makes a massive difference (we had an inexperienced backline with Phillips & Serong)
Butters had 30+ and his last quarter dominance turned the game - will he play ? Has to be doubts
Farrell & Houston were solid too (they won’t be there)

The weather is predicted to be ok (light winds & 19 degrees - doubtful on showers)

The pressure on Power will be immense - from not only the Brown & Gold warriors onfield but their own fan base (and a straight sets wipeout)

Not expecting any change to our side (still think they won’t risk Day)

Will be hot in the kitchen early but our boys are 3 Star Michelin champions and will produce something sublime.

For anyone venturing across to Adelaide this Friday and looking for a pre game drinking hole.

The Strathmore hotel opposite the Casino (short walk across the Torrens to the ground) does $10 game day pints (around 10 Beer options for this price including Stone & Wood).
Yep. Top place. Will be there (ticket availability permitting).

The Port preview thread is brutal reading. It’s not even fun melts. More despondent.
We have had 12.5 years of this Geelong loving moron coach. As soon as we want change us supporters are called ungrateful, fickle, white noise by this media protection Hinkley has, it's bizarre.

Hope you can understand our situation, we normally would never want our team to lose but they leave us no option.
