Just end the misery and rule him out for the season please. We all got a surge of optimism when told that it wasn’t a break and that has been followed by a month of torture being told every week that he’s not ready. I’m not really sure why they can’t give him a recovery timeline low they do with every other injured player in the AFL.
Did you read the injury report?

Yes. I have just never seen an injury that has had such an indefinite recovery period before. They usually dial in a recovery period within a week or two. It would have been more realistic if they had said “We doubt he will get it right again in 2024 but we will hope for the best” rather than come out with the positive report that it’s not broken which makes it sound like he’ll be right, then painfully drag out the fact that it’s still going to take many weeks to heal.

Will Day (SC Joint) - TBC

“He’s doing a lot of non-contact training at the moment and plenty of conditioning, which is fantastic. We’re just not in a position to progress to contact, so the joint stability, the integrity of that needs to have improved and we’re not at a level where it has, and that’s a really important part of making this decision to progress to contact, the stability around the SC Joint. So at this stage, we’re still in the same situation that we can do a lot of training around it but we can’t do contact and if we can’t do contact training, we can’t play, so that’s frustrating. But Will is a professional, he’s doing everything he can and he’s certainly working really, really hard on his game. If you were out here today, he’s doing some non-contact football drills, he looks fantastic, but we’re just not in a position to progress yet, unfortunately.”

So what you are complaining about is that there is nuance to the injury, and you just want a black and white answer in weeks, which is almost never going to happen when it’s clearly outlined from the start this is going to be a situation where they need to let the joint settle and then introduce him to contact training as he gets comfortable.

I know that Ginnivan is just joking around with an old team mate in Grundy but it makes me uneasy. Bravado obviously doesn't have to equal complacency (and it's in a fine tradition of great boxers, basketballers, sprinters etc) but I just hope that it's not even crossed their minds that the game against Port is going to be relatively easy and they can start thinking about the next one.

Lol mate you are not going to go all in on this after going all in on us not making finals are you? Ease up on the negativity enjoy the ride. He isn't ruled out for the season. The prelim final if we get there might be when we get him back.

I’m complaining that they haven’t made it clear that there is a strong chance he won’t be back in 2024 so as to manage supporter expectations. They have almost done the opposite by releasing the fact that it’s just bruising. They need to appreciate that the fans are all waiting on baited breath for him to come good. We basically have no inkling if he’s likely to be back for the prelim or possibly the grand final should we make it. End the torture.

It's an unusual injury. They have to see how stable it is and how much pain and limitation of movement he has. Minor ones get going after about 3 weeks, more significant ones take longer. The club docs won't have much experience with these and they will be less confident in their recovery predictions. Our game is tough on the shoulder girdle, I fractured the same collar bone in one year of junior footy (my last)

Naah the chance he will be back are high it depends if we make it to next week. Frost is done for the season because his injury is terminal for the season. We don't beat around the bush when we know for certain.

Is that even Ginnivan's offical twitter (X) Account? I'm no expect and aren't on twitter, so no idea.
But from what I can tell, Ginni's profile pic has his sleep move v pies. 1725869788799.png

There are in fact 3 TBCs in the official injury list across all of the teams still in contention this week.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe it’s because they don’t actually know and they’re trying their best to get him right to come back and play?

FMD.

Tom Morris just said it's 'either Jai Serong or Ethan Phillips'. He has no idea yet.

Reality is from what Spida said about this particularly injury he has reached the bare minimum time required to get it right to play at the end of the week (4 weeks). If we win the real countdown will start IMO regarding him getting up for the Prelim. Never thought we were going to risk him on Friday as we just don't operate like that. Port on the other hand will roll the dice on Butters as there depth is terrible which is why they have players hampered through a finals campaign.

Feel free to message me for any Adelaide tips/tricks! I'm sure the other SA Hawks would be more than happy to help too.
Are there any bars inside the ground (other than the members) that sell full strength alcohol?

I’ve been told by a medical expert it’s the type of injury to be exceedingly sore with no improvement.. then all of a sudden it comes along quickly. There’s no need to rule somebody out just because supporters aren’t enjoying being left in the dark.

Newk might rip butter apart, it’s a massive risk to play him.

Saw Nash take some big hits as well

The AFL literally admitted it was a mistake. They had an extra 19 seconds that they should not have received. They scored the last goal inside that 19 seconds.

I’m telling you that memory is a tricky bastard. Jon Ralph argued that the time is wrong. The AFL said that there was no mistake.

The AFL says there’s no issue here, it is not a timekeeping error because that’s when the time on was called again – but speaking to former and current umpires, they say that he should not have had those 19 seconds,” Ralph added.

From here:

The umpire stopped the clock, then restarted it. This happens a million times during a game.

I’m pretty sure they sell full strength all around the oval all the time but someone can confirm that for me. The Melbourne night game mid strength rule is a joke

yeah i know, it sucks. I went to a night test at the AO and it was only XXXX Gold, which was disappointing – so we'll see.

Then say that!!!
