Carlton - Asher Eastham 188cm Gippsland Power

A move from Attack to Defence put this kid on the radar for me. Reads the ball well, very good mark and looks a natural interceptor. He was able to read the ball in flight and peel off to take excellent intercept marks. Eastham will find improvement once he builds a better running capacity to roam further up the ground and help connect the lines. It'll make him a more consistent four-quarter performer, too.

I hope he adds a few centimetres

Eastham most often catches the eye with exciting glimpses or short purple patches of form. His highlight reel is terrific, featuring overhead marks at full stretch and classy finishes on goal.

Consistency is the knock on him but has good traits to build on. Tested impressively at the Draft Combine, posting 2.98 seconds on the 20m sprint and 8.25 seconds on the agility test.

My take is he is a late developer and worth the punt

Thank you to all of you who contributed and look forward to next year when Carlton would have had pick 18!

Sydney had another selection (if not two) but committed to their two depth KPDs and instead of Warburtonn may end up with a DFA like Cunningham.

Thanks for running this again mate. Good job. Nice drafting.

So who do people think did well other than their own?

Bombers still had 2 also. Let me know who you would like to select and I’ll chuck them in

Swans reportedly promised the two veteran defenders that they delisted they'd rookie them so makes it simple.

Who were they I’ll add them on

Hamling and Francis

I would've let them both go but will keep them realistic given the public promises.

As a late developer, Eastham might miss out on the draft. If he does, I'd be inviting him to play VFL in the hope of promoting him at the Mid-year draft. It is a tactic we've tried a bit over the last couple of years: McMahon and Will White come to mind. Granted, we bombed out with Tyson Sruk and Michael Rudd, but I still like the idea as a concept.

Will take Riley Bice.

A footballer first, good user, run and carry back man.

Athletically might struggle, but I will back him to overcome limitations and get to implement his skills.

Left footer too, which is always nice.

Next pick will be Toby Pink, unless someone else takes him

I can't see this name and not think it's Bailey Rice trying to get redrafted incognito...

Essendon Pick - Gabriel Stumpf - KPF

Mobile tall forward with lightning speed off the mark and strong hands overhead.

I can't believe no one stumpfed up for him in the national draft...

Using our phantom draft as a measurement:

Accumulative Draft Value

positive points if you drafted them after they were selected in the National Draft

negative points if you drafted them before they were selected in the national draft

NO points awarded or penalised for a successful bid match as where someone else ranked them is out of your team's control.

Correct teams

Brisbane Levi Ashcroft*, Sam Marshall*
Adelaide Sid Draper
Essendon Isaac Kako*
Gold Coast Leo Lombard*
GWS Oli Hannaford
Sydney Jesse Dattoli
Richmond Sam Lalor, Taj Hotton, Jonty Faull, Jasper Alger

Total: 7 non-bid matched correct teams. 11 in total

The Alger pick, although accurate team, is what has hurt Richmond in the "closest to the pin" but that's outstanding selecting 4 first round picks.

I'll work on finishing all drafts over the weekend.
