“We don’t need draft picks, we need players!!!”

The players:

Whoever leaked it to the media stuffed up. Should have waited for it to be signed off by Port first.
I’m putting this one in the made up by the trade radio buffoons box.
Make a mega trade that’s pretty shit, get it out there, generate a bazillion clicks and a few hours later shut it down…

We don’t even know if he wants to come to the club?

What’s batshit crazy is wanting to take unders for a small sugar hit.

It’s called a rebuild. This is the time to stock up on talent.

All I have heard on this board for the better part of a week is let’s overpay for a player and let undervalue what we have as far as draft capital.

With it without Houston, it’s unlikely we push out of the bottom four.

People just need to be patient.

With the draft points value dropping for later picks next year, that first is going to become highly valuable with these clubs needing to find points. But let’s piss it away for a half eaten twistie.
Yes the desperation of some people to want to pay just about anything to get mature players in in the hope that we can move from 3 wins per season to 6 wins is just about as idiotic as I have seen since the StKilds drafting of 30 years ago. We will cop everything we deserve if we go down this path.

The dial movers for us are to get a better leadership structure in place; better standards around training and fitness - and these are on the highly paid Clarko and his coaching team to get right. This then needs to be backed with elite talent ie top 5 picks type of talent then the appropriate free agents at the right time (in 2025 or 2026).
