If he knew he was about to get reamed, wouldn't that suggest that he knows something about what a good deal looks like? Which goes against most peoples' view of him?

I could be a dreamer that both clubs are mature enough to sort it out reasonably, I mean if you ignore the media around it, these deals have been worked on in the background for ages between player manager and clubs, they'd have a fair idea of what it would take and the swans basically gave him a send off, so my guess is they're both in the ballpark.
unless something drastically has changed, a deal will get done.
