Recruiting failed first-rounders based on their underage form is the oldest trap in the book. Somehow we fall for it year after year. Here are our most recent examples:

Paul Ahern
Nathan Hrovat
Jared Polec
Dom Tyson
Aiden Bonar
Jaidyn Stephenson
Callum Coleman-Jones
Dylan Stephens

How many were wins?
Needs more Jordan Gysberts and Sam "Jar Jar" Power.

Love Thursfield talking about how there will likely be some.good small forwards available.around our second pick, and then we instead trade it for someone with clear deficiencies in the modern game (to play a position we gave someone else four years to also play only 12 months ago)
Love how you assume the picks we end up with at the end of today will be the picks we have on draft night.

This makes it look like they only just arrived, but the truth is Brady's nose has been in the room since 10am.

It just took a while for the rest of his body to catch up.

A better kick??? He averages five per game! Can't run from one end of the ground to the other. You're comparing a bloke that's lucky to be on a list against an all Australian.
He's not boomer harvey, unlikely he'd have the same output in our team of the last 5 years.

That day against WC in Tassie - was there anyone who wasn’t ensconced on the Paul Ahern train?

Why make an early offer at all then. Plus, if we agreed to do it that late after all but announcing Luke Parker's signing then we have no idea.
I could be a dreamer that both clubs are mature enough to sort it out reasonably, I mean if you ignore the media around it, these deals have been worked on in the background for ages between player manager and clubs, they'd have a fair idea of what it would take and the swans basically gave him a send off, so my guess is they're both in the ballpark.
unless something drastically has changed, a deal will get done.
