Why is every other list manager a five-star arseh*le, yet we play mr nice guy the whole time....HTFU Brady!
When no one else saw the value in Xerri Brady stood firm on wanting a second rounder for him. he's not a complete marshmallow.

Yes, we're really being outshone by all the world class media performers that are the other clubs list people being interviewed as they go in.

Seriously, the stuff you people make up to bag Brady is just insane now.

It isn't a lot to ask that the people the club puts in front a camera are able to communicate well in front of it. It is not like Rawlings is flying solo, there would be a number of people there.

If he is that uncomfortable the club would be doing him a favour as well getting someone else to do it.

Sheez can't do everything.

But he wasn't even that bad. He answered all the questions the same as most of the other teams' footy department people they spoke to.

The audience is a few hundred nuffies like us that are desperate enough to listen to trade radio. It's not bloody Hollywood.

The only part of the Rawling interview I didn't rate was 'hoping to be in the race' for Houston.
It was an embarrassing response. Like John Kennedy once said “Don’t think. Don’t hope. Do!” Having said that I wouldn’t be trading our F1 for Houston. :stern look

Of course the swans showing a bit of bravado early on, Parker has still 1 year to run on his contract. So in that respect, they hold all the aces early on in the potential trade.

If we got Viney we might not have chased Parker. They both provide very similar attributes including age/experience/leadership and onfield type. Viney is probably a better first option.

Brawshaw - well you'd be mad not to ask i reckon. And he'd be the perfect age to compliment LDU while those younger mids develop, they were both drafted in 2017. Also while Jy was very good after he came back post bye but his health situation is probably one where another mid in the same age range as he and LDU is a good thing. There's a very real chance that one more bad hit could end his career.

I don't think it says anything really about Powell, other than age/experience. Powell was the highest rated player in his age group wasn't he? Phillips - well, he is on his last chance so yeah.

It would be unrealistic to expect Phillips to make it after this season imo. He still may, and he has some good AFL qualities, but he definitely went backwards and Jy could be one bad hit away from retirement ... but at the same time Brayshaw is a player who will make any side in the comp better, even the Swans. Given his family connection to the club (and his brother claiming we'll win several flags in the next five - ten years) its an obvious choice to ask the question to him and his management. I think its something we should do even if there were no questions over Jy and Will's future.

Also - we have four players from the 2016 draft, three from 2017 (tho one is on thin ice) so it makes sense to chase players in that age range as a medium term recruitment strategy generally.
Viney was in addition to Parker.

I don't really care for the ratings re: Powell. Not trying to be rude but those ratings systems led us to some horrendous draft hauls.

I'd much rather someone who gets deals done than doesn't get deals done, like a Dodoro, but we have agreed to deals most other clubs wouldn't and those that have held out got a lot more out of us. Other clubs look at us the same way we look at Gold Coast, they are probably the worst traders behind us.

When they wanted to get rid of Stephens they were easier to deal with.

The club has to really sell it as you aren't doing us a favour, you are doing Parker a favour, he has been a long serving veteran that you only played for 7 games during the H&A plus the finals probably more due to injuries to other players rather than his form. He has the opportunity to play on for 2-3 years somewhere else or you can keep him to his contract and he becomes an UFA at the end of next year but if he doesn't play much next year as well he might not play beyond next year. Is that the way you want to treat your veteran players coming to the end of their time?
